Spoilers Gotham - Season 2

Well, this week's episode actually was pretty good overall. The insanity level (cannibalistic hitman, etc) is just part of the show's dna, and I rather enjoy that actually. The only thing that bothered me really was the huge hostage situation precipitated by an attack of hitmen from an organization that 'just keeps sending men until the job is done' in which a grand total of 3 or 4 hitmen showed up, and especially the police dept. which upon hearing that it's own police chief was trapped by an unknown number of assaillants with assault weapons, only sent 2 squad cars worth of backup... It's like they couldn't afford any extras or something - very weird.

I'm a few episodes behind because I just stopped caring with how bad the writing is, but has Galavan been exposed yet? Not sure how he can enact his secret master plan when he keeps telling untrustworthy criminals as well as hanging out with Barbara all the time.

I just can't believe that people complain about the writing on the show when
1.) it's a satire of Superhero live action fiction
2) It's better than the other live-action crap "Who is he. He's a speedster form another dimension" (said with no humor or irony.)

Entertaining the dubious notion that it's a satire...even satires can be badly written. Not to mention unentertaining, unengaging, overly grotesque....

I watched a few Flash episodes.. of note is that one where that other flash comes down and they find his helmet and he has no powers and the whole episode people are delivering crap dialogue like the one I citing, the directing is atrocious and the material has no edge.. it would have been the same reading the wikipedia entry for what happened

Try watching Arrow. Fanfilm-tier acting combined with YouTube level cinematography and fanfic level writing.

Plus, it's not even fun any more.

He was arrested last week. Now his 'brothers' are coming to town to put the final phases of his plan into action. (Brothers like as in secret society brothers)

I'd never expect to see someone censure another show's dialog in a Gotham thread.

Gotham has proven to have plenty of writing problems but the dialogue is almost never one of them. The dialogue on the Berlanti shows, on the other hand, is almost always terrible. The Flash gets a pass for me because of the great (and unique) tone and a full cast of very likable characters (and actors), but Arrow is basically unwatchable and Supergirl seems to be turning out the same.

What grendelsbayne said, plus the fact that Arrow has been getting progressively worse since late season two, and at this point it's actually worse than Gotham.

Don't get me wrong, Gotham is a bad TV show. No sugar-coating that one. But it looks good. The cast is more than solid, and cinematography and art direction are pretty much top-class.

Sweet mother of god, that was good. Set up by the season, bringing the characters to their forte.

Jim is as dark and crazy and controlled as Bruce. They are brothers.

Alfred vs Tabby, he took her on and it was a stalemate.

Bruce taking Silver. Perfect.

Bruce to Selina. Even better.

Bruce vs Galivan. I can't wait.

Agree. :techman: Awesome.

i thought it was good too... glad that Galavan's arrest was way more than it seemed.

But one thing -- is kidnapping outside of Bruce's ethics?

And the hired thug -- a friend of Selina's & not Alfred? Selina & Bruce definitely have a complicated relationship....so is she the one that helps set him up as a playboy?

Good episode. Really glad to see Bruce doing something smart and manipulative.

I was confused that Penguin suddenly had his minions back, though. He was shacked up in an abandoned trailer in the middle of the woods, and then he was living this pathetic existence as Riddler's roommate. If he still had his army, why was he doing these things?
