Spoilers STAR TREK BEYOND

Haven't been following much of this movie's production until now. Has there been any leaks regarding Idris Elba's character, in regards to his race or looks? What do we know about him?

Also, is there any legitimacy to the trailer being attached to The Force Awakens, or is it just pure speculation? I'd love to see it with Star Wars, it'd get a lot of attention that way.

I swear, "Fiona Vroom" is one of the worst stage names I've heard outside of a Bond film.

From what I can tell, it isn't a stage name, but a real name of Dutch derivation, as I said.

Though it may well be a real Dutch surname, it's just as likely to me that it could be a fake name. Actors with SAG do that kind of stuff all the time with independent films - some of the actors in the original Evil Dead, for example.

I wonder if he'll be in whiteface like Sofia Boutella.

I know it's a Dutch name, but "Fiona Vroom" sounds like it should be the name of a cartoon race-car driver, like Penelope Pitstop.

To be honest, it sounds like a stripper who works the NASCAR circuit.

Two names credited as "lieutenant" were Arabic. I wonder if that means they are in the Dubai scenes?

I'd say that sounds like a reasonable guess. While the majority of the people we saw in Starfleet uniforms and/or alien makeup were undoubtedly extras, it makes some sense that a handful would get parts with a few lines to read.

Idris Elba is not a Klingon.

"As a behind-the-scenes feature from the DVD/Blu-ray edition of "Star Trek Into Darkness" reveals, the makeup process to create just one of the warriors took about four-and-a-half hours".

Paramount Pictures, Skydance, Bad Robot and IMAX Corporation today announced that Star Trek Beyond, the third film in the blockbuster franchise, will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX format and released in IMAX theaters worldwide beginning July 22, 2016. Star Trek Beyond wrapped production last month, and its release will coincide with the 50th Anniversary of the original Star Trek TV series. Paramount hasn't currently announced any specific plans for this anniversary celebration as of yet, but more details should surface in the new year.
