I'm not entirely convinced that Hiro is dead. For one thing, they didn't show him die. Also, 2015 Hiro was already pretty good with his swordplay. After going back in time to 1999 he's had 16 years to practice; he could have easily taken down 3 Harrises even without his powers. Curious to see what Renautas has planned for Micah, obviously something tech-related. Good to see that they may actually explain what exactly Malina's abilities are next week. I really hope Nathan doesn't buy into Erica's bullshit, but it looks like they may be leaning that direction.

Glad to see the Haitian back....

But if next season is the season finale.... are they planning to come back again next season? I thought this was supposed to be limited series?

And about HRG... he is the one character EVERYONE liked... while some might have liked Peter and Sylar (for example), several others didn't (or in Sylar's case, his story was long over with, despite great acting by Zachary Quinto). This season has been his story...with the others kinda added in

Gad they finally got Micah back... he's grown up to at least look like a leading man in TV...and if his acting has even just stayed the same, he's definitely up for such a role. We'll see what happens

I am glad the Haitian is back.... but Quentin and Judith Shekoni's character have to go. Sad about the Penny man... feels like we're missing a lot of his story.

It's the "midseason finale," which is the pretentious term networks use these days for the last episode before the holiday break. Presumably the last three episodes will air in January or February.

I thought I recognized that fat guy in the suit: Parkman. What the hell has Erica done for you? Promised you an unlimited supply of donuts in exchange for hunting down and brainwashing other Evos? You disgust me.

Luke should've toasted Jo when he had the chance, but I guess the writers aren't done with her yet. This series should've been titled "Rise of the Villains."

"You're the butterfly."

Okay, so it seems you were right, and they are going with the idea that Quentin has changed from ally to enemy. Although I still say that everything he did before is exactly what he would've done as a mole working for Erica.

And nothing else seems to be changed, except maybe Rene being alive. Erica isn't using a cane after all, although I did notice her using it in the recap clip from last week. That's an odd glitch.

And it's still a contradiction in terms to say that Noah going back in time was part of what caused the series' events and yet somehow also altered those events. But then, illogical writing is hardly unexpected for a show that once postulated that a solar eclipse can be seen everywhere on Earth at the same time.

We still have no proof that Noah went back in time in the original timeline.

I always liked him. I hope he has a chance to redeem himself. He obviously wasn't happy about what he was doing.

Okay, so apparently the only dead main character who's actually dead is Claire (well, and Caspar). Miko and Otomo are alive, Farah is alive.

I think the idea of repopulating the dead Earth in the far future is the most interesting science-fictional idea this show has had. It actually reminds me a bit of a novella I'm currently reading, "Palimpsest" by Charles Stross, involving time travelers who repeatedly repopulate the Earth after numerous far-future extinctions.

They used the same teleportation effect for Hiro as I recall. And Micah has sure grown up, Matt is beginning to realize he might not be as important as he thought he was so there's some hope for him yet.

Was that a geomagnetic storm? It certainly didn't look like a tornado. I was surprised the crowd reacted differently by thinking Evos caused the storm when it was apparent that Malina made it disappear. Does everyone assume all Evos are a threat? It seems to me like a lot of things are so black and white on this show; it's almost off-putting.

I sensed that they're setting up a conflict between Nathan and Malina. Erica might succeed in manipulating Nathan into thinking Renautas is saving humanity by sending people to future Earth while another faction (Noah and company) is more focused on stopping the apocalypse.

That's a standard comic book cliché going way back. "He must have caused it in the first place!"

And, sadly, not limited to comic books. Like all the idiots out there blaming refugees fleeing from the Islamic State for the actions committed by the Islamic State. Bigots don't care about facts -- they'll twist any event to fit their preconceived narrative, and so will the citizens they've brainwashed to default to unthinking fear.

Of course, most of the great early comic book creators -- Siegel, Shuster, Simon, Kirby, Lee -- grew up as the sons of Jewish immigrants in an era when American anti-Semitism was at an all-time high. So their comics were loaded with allegory about real-world intolerance and injustice.
