Minority Report Season One

Per last night, they thought Vega was going to get murdered while investigating her dad's death, but things turned out differently. She was able to identify and confront the killer, a former junkie, and deaths were avoided. I wonder if Vega will pursue the case and hunt down the drug dealer who asked the woman to pull the trigger.

Oh, I'm sure the conspiracy behind Vega's father's murder is going to be a major arc for the show. At least, if it's not an ongoing thread in the remaining few episodes, it would've been had the show continued beyond them. Every show has to have ongoing conspiracies and mysteries centered on the main characters these days.

This one was somewhat more interesting than the last couple. I like how it turned out, with the killer being truly repentant and trying to make amends. Although it's an enormous coincidence that the clue that led them there was the Red Clouds jersey that wasn't actually Vega's after all (it was the son's). That's really, really contrived. (I loved Akeela's "death shirt" line, though.)

I'm also not crazy about the implication that 50 years from now, there's apparently been no improvement in household firearm safety. It should not have been that easy for a little kid to get his hands on a loaded gun.

Dude, there is a trillion dollar industry railing against gun safety who will let America burn to protect their bottom line.

"Personal responsibility" may improve but legally mandated responsibility is only going to get worse until the NRA is criminalized, which is not going to happen.

I'm alittle more interested in Arthur's agenda, he lied to Agatha about not helping Dash but then it's odd taht she wouldn't know the truth. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Vega's investigation leads back to the people behind Hawkeye somehow.

This week's episode was pretty good. We finally got to see all three siblings and Vega meet and interact. The mystery was fairly interesting too, although it got less interesting once we found out who the bad guys were. And some thought was put into the futurism. We've got coastal regions abandoned to rising sea levels (take that, deniers!), vat-grown meat becoming standard, tobacco being outlawed. Although I could've done without Arthur's stilted "I will now give exposition for the audience" speeches about the first and third of those.

Anyway, setting the majority of the episode in a traditionalist, back-to-nature community must've saved money on special effects and props.

Just caught this week's episode on Hulu.

Yeah, I also liked the future stuff we got this time. They actually bothered to try to tell us some stuff about the future for once on this show. I liked the line about giant ears of corn.

So I think there are 4 episodes left. How nicely is this going to be warpped up, and what plots are still going to be left dangling?

I liked the way tonight's episode unfolded. It felt a little different than the usual episode of Minority Report. Nice twist with someone being killed right in front of Dash.

Interesting flashback to see that the roles were somewhat reversed back when they first got out into the world.

But honestly, I still find it difficult to care much about these characters. They're just there. Maybe it's the fact that I know this is ending in 3 episodes, and I'm automatically avoiding any attachments, but I'm just not going to miss them too much when they're gone.

I think the show's getting better as it focuses more on the Precog family and the mythology of the premise. I'm starting to regret that it's so close to ending. I just hope the final episode has some kind of closure.

No episode tonight according to tv listings. Bones repeat airs instead. A last minute schedule change, or was it supposed to be preemptied? :wtf:

Does anybody know why? I didn't see anything about any special events on Fox that would have effected the schedule. Is it just to stretch out the season?

They might be looking to move Bones into this slot permanently for the rest of the year and want to try it out.

Checking Wikipedia, I discovered that the episode list had no new broadcast scheduled for this week, unless the entry was edited.

Another discovery...last week's "Honor Among Thieves" was the sixth episode, with ep seven (Fidder's Neck-the return home to the island) airing before it. The only instance or the eps running out of order thus far.

Damn, running first season eps of a low rated sci-fi show out of order, is FOX having a relapse?

The last time that happened, with Almost Human, it was at the producers' own request. That could be the case here as well. Sometimes the makers of a show just decide the episodes work better in a different order. It isn't always the network's doing.

What happens at Mile 62 stays at Mile 62.

They must have some crazy shit going on on those space cruises.

Drug drones. Clever idea. Doubt we'll have to wait that long for them to become reality though. Heck, wouldn't be half surprised if some criminals were already using drones today to try to ferry drugs.

Two episodes left, and we've got two major plot points to wrap up, the memento mori terrorists and the precog trio being put back in the bath. Might as well assume that the two storylines will converge, and the trio will willingly get back together to try to stop this apparent biological weapon attack. I guess there might be a third storyline, with Vega and Blake (hopefully Blake) and everyone else trying to save the trio from the DIA (right initials??). Though I have a feeling they'll cooperate with our good guys.
