Quick 2D mock-up of a TOS Era Vulcan/Starfleet science vessel

How many tiers of shuttles are in that bay, by the way? And do they get them down before putting crews in them, or fly them from their parking spaces?

That's looking rather brilliant!
Here was my Soval-class TMP vulcan starship:

The ship's shuttlebay is similar in size to the constitution class's so there is only one tier of shuttles

I really love that design!

Update: Added another deck to the primary hull and enlarged the bridge to fix scaling issues. I've also included a side by side comparison of the vessel and the Constitution Class of the same era.

I was trying to mix the ENT era Vulcan ships with the TOS Starfleet look as if the science vessel was a joint venture. Just to clarify, those are primarily used as probe launchers, not torpedo tubes. I plan on playing around with the design some more before making a 3D model of it. Comments and criticisms are always welcome.

I love this idea!

To make it more consistent with the design philosophies and sensibilities we saw in TOS, you could try making the torpedo launching pod more like a mail hull; more of a cigar shape but with the front-end more blunt. Kind of a teardrop effect.
