Re: New Series Announcement from StarTrek.com - Begins January 17, 201
I think it's important to remember that this news is not such a big deal outside Trek fandom. So it's extremely unlikely CBS will be relying on Trek to anchor their online service. They probably have a roster of new shows in different genres to wheel out over the next couple of years, enough to make the package as a whole attractive. I suspect they will also rebrand and change the name to something less clunky than CBS All Access.
CBS would be foolish not to take advantage of Beyond's release next year, to ride the buzz and release cool preliminary images from the series. Perhaps in the lead-up to the premiere they might also make all Trek content free for a limited period?
Forehead aliens are VERY unlikely. ENT had very few (I only recall the Klingons). Most of their makeups were much more advanced. There was also good use of CGI (Xindi insectoids) and CG enhancement (Shran's antennae). And that was years ago.
I am hoping for SBS 2.
(They have had Walking Dead, From Dusk Till Dawn, and 12 Monkeys, among others, so not that much of a stretch.)

I know it's an old topic, but I'm really hoping there won't be any forehead aliens. In the last year I've been watching more British sci-fi, mainly Doctor Who and Primeval, and seeing the creatures they did (I admit with varying degrees of success) and then comparing them with what Star Trek typically does it's kind of sad.

Edit: oh and I hope this is not sold to channel 9 in Australia as they have a history of airing ST at midnight.
