Safeway Star Trek Special

Did anyone know of this? Or pick it up? I was going to post this a few months back, but I was a bit busy. (I'm still busy!) This special was sold at the Safeway store for a month or two or three. At least the one in the city I currently reside in.

(Note: For those who don't live in the U.S., Safeway is a supermarket chain. I think they're primarily on the west coast).

"CBS Watch" did a Nimoy retrospective when he died. I guess it sold well, and they decided to do another Trek issue.

Hi Joel. I didn't see this one in the store, but our local Safeway shut down years ago and we don't often go to other locations.

I just want to point out that Safeway existed in the UK for a while. You can see a storefront in Hitchcock's Frenzy in London.

The Watergate shopping area below the hotel.

While at GW in DC, I used to shop there.

Surreal.

The most mundane thing one can do- shop for hot dogs and t.p., while just under where a burglary took place which eventually knocked a President out of office, and made us all question our blind faith in the US executive branch.

This mag seems interesting but why Season 3 Shat? Nice new uniform, but the man had too many brownies over the summer of '68.

I picked up the TOS and Nimoy magazines this year as well.

Safeway is a common chain in the DC/metro area. It's also the same company that owns Vons and Pavilions, so if you have those in your area you might be able to find the magazine there.

Oh shit, I forgot to pick that up! I wonder if I can still get it from Chapters/Indigo here in Canada (or from INS Newsagents)?

We also have Safeway here in Canada too, but it's now completely on the West Coast.

I read something somewhere where someone was quoted as saying that Shatner always showed up for the season skinny, and that the longer he was on set the heavier he'd get.

Not just Safeway. I saw that at every grocery store in my area. I thumbed through it at the magazine rack but wasn't compelled to actually buy it.

Yeah, I just watched "Frenzy" last week (?) and kept an eye out for the Safeway logo. It's towards the end of the film when Jon Finch goes back to the killer's warehouse area.
