In all seriousness, when I was younger it was of course Kirk all the way. But now that I'm older (40's) I feel I'm much more attuned to the role of McCoy.

I would love to play Kang the Klingon, but the late Michael Ansara was so good that I wouldn't even make the first cut for the part.

Well I'm far too old for the main cast, but I think I'd do a pretty good job as Commodore Mendez. And get two episodes out of it too.

Kirk is the coolest most awesome character and the captain so I'd go for that role. But I'd probably end up being cast as some hideous alien abomination from Pig Snout VI knowing my luck.

I think I'd try out for the role of Captain James T. Kirk. I may wear a red shirt just for the hell of it.

Even though there were interracial kisses before Star Trek (that didn't involve black individuals, which means Amerikka wasn't threatened and that there were - and still are - certain rights given to individuals depending on one's race) I think each time I kissed a non-black actress some people will point out that I am:

*The first black American actor to kiss a Eurasian female.
*The first black American actor to kiss a white female.
*The first black American actor to kiss an Asian female.
*The first black American actor to kiss a Native American female.
*The first black American actor to kiss a white female who is under green makeup onscreen.

And so on...

If not Kirk....maybe Spock. However, I think that's one role Nimoy did too well.

It's pure hubris to think I could act anywhere near good enough to have been any of the main cast - although I always fantasized about being Kirk. I think I'd try out for Lt Leslie's part. He wasn't a main character, but good ol' Eddie Paskey sure was in a lot of episodes.
