Star Wars: Episode VII: The Nerd Rage Awakens

People on Tumblr are so cool.

There's bad blood in the Star Wars fandom. OT vs PT vs NT

My favorite trailer meme is the one with:

"It's true. All of it."

"Even the part where Greedo shoots first?"

"Get out."

I think you may be over-thinking it.

;)

Quite possibly. However this and the conspicuous absence of Luke from the poster and trailers--save that one shot that may or may not be him (but probably is)--has the distinct odour of JJA's usual "mystery box" shenanigans. Whether it's pointing at something real or intentional misdirection, we'll have to wait and see. Personally though, I'm betting on the latter.

For Throwback Thursday, let us reminisces about what had Star Wars fans rustled back in 2012.

Also a video corresponding to the title of this thread.

I'd start loading a trailer, go downstairs to make a coffee, do some other crap and then come back up to watch it, hopefully uninterrupted!

ah crap. I had to shutdown AOL cause my parents need to use the phone.

I have to load it all over again!

Just before obi-wan shouted "noooooo!"

I hope future sequels lay off the over dramatic "noooooo!"

;)

Yesterday I read about how TFA shattered the pre-sales record at Fandango.com, selling 8 TIMES the amount of tickets on the first day that the previous record holder, The Hunger Games sold in 2012.

Today I learned that it pretty much obliterated the pre-sales record in Croatia as well.

Holy shit, do we really have a contender for Avatar's throne?

^ Fingers crossed. I get that Avatar was a piece of technical brilliance and I appreciate it from that perspective, but I'm not a fan of either Avatar or Titanic in general. Time to dethrone Cameron.

I like Titanic and I always have enjoyed it, but yeah, other than that one small detail I completely agree with your post. Time for a movie by somebody other than James Cameron to take back the top spot after almost eighteen years.

I don't really care if Star Wars takes the top spot (although the little fanboi in me wants it beat every number ever, including Gone With the Wind's inflation adjusted number) I just want it to be a good film.

If TFA does make record amounts of money it will have a good effect on the other Star Wars projects in the works.

That is true, but the only way TFA would have a negative impact on those projects is if for some inexplicable reason it bombs.
So in all reality even if it underperforms it will not seriously impact the projects that are already in the pipeline.
