Secret of Vulcan Fury: 7 minutes of never seen demo footage

Saw this a few weeks ago, ambitious for the time! Hope someone like GOG gets the rights to this and revives it!

The voice work for the game was completed but the actual game was nowhere near completion when it was canceled. I'm sure someone out there has the source code but GOG would have nothing to do with finishing it; they simply write wrappers to make older games work properly on modern systems.

If this is not the holy grail of Star Trek then someone please tell me what is?!

I really would love to know how much of the dialogue the original 7 recorded and itf it exists in a vault somewhere. i still want it turned into an animated DTV

The game was being constantly rewritten; the full cast is known to have recorded two complete versions. When the time came around to do another session, Kelley was gravely ill and Maurice LaMarche was brought in to cover for him.

Two versions eh? Maybe one of these sessions could be found?

Hell I'd be satisfied with just a release in novel form. D.C. Fontana has reached out to try to get it done but nothing as of yet.

As the last stuff from Kelley and Doohan, I've always wished that Paramount would find some method, any method really, to get that voice work out there.

If i remember correctly a few years ago some of us here at the time managed to get in contact with one of the games devs,if i remember he was in the art and graphics side of the game, who had a blog or website, were along with some of his other work, had quite a indepth blog of his time on VF, and sadly what happened to all the voice and game work, which if i remember correctly was sitting on PC's that were removed, wiped and sold on toward Interplays debt at the time.

I wish i could remember the site, it was quite interesting to read about all the behind the scenes blow ups between the game devs and managers and Interply at the time, which was the major thing that kept the game itself in the early stages.

Robert England, the person who is making that new animated episode of Star Trek called Beyond Antares claims that he has the early version of Secret of Vulcan Fury. He also says that he has the unused audio from the 1970s story records that the original cast did but was not used. I would like to see all of the audio from these different projects as well as the games Judgement Rites and 25th Anniversary Edition, as well as the Animated Series get new animation. I would like to see all of this happen in time for the 50 anniversary in 2016. I wish that CBS/Paramount would talk to him and see what he has got and see if these new animated episodes could be made. I would like to see the final two years of the original five year mission completed. P.S. Mr. England's animated episode can be found on Youtube.

^^Wow that would be amazing, although i imagine the copyright issues would be a nightmare, unfinished game code with a mass of peoples work in it, actors voice work, living and passed on, i would not like to be his laywer. lol

That looks incredible. I got the impression that was only for the cutscenes. But if the whole game is done like that, via video, the same result could be now done via realtime rendering, and with increased definition and resolution. Gets me thinking what the legality would be if a company like Telltale would be able to get the rights to the license along with the audio, and craft a new game around it. Their engine would be suitable for it. But, probably a tangled web.

Even without the original audio, if a license can be procured, and D.C Fontana hired to write a similar story with some of the same elements, maybe it could avoid some of the issues.

Is there new discoveries or any news about Secret of Vulcan Fury and Robert England's endeavors?

I would love to know what the story or the plot of SOVF? Does anyone know?

Is it true that McCoy was recorded by someone other than Kelley (who was in poor health at the time)?
