Spoilers Arrow - Season 4

No sir, Pink Kryptonite is "real".

It makes Superman temporarily gay.

A three panel joke from an issue of Supergirl.

I liked Thea's enthusiasm but she is probably cray-cray. This show is getting worse by the season. :(

Well, yeah that is the whole point of Thea's arc for at least part of the season. The Lazarus Pit has made her unstable and violent.
Sure the show has changed but I still really enjoy it.
The NYCC sizzle reel is online. It's mostly footage from the season premiere with a few bits from episodes that haven't aired yet.

Pam Grier was okay.

The Smallville Waller, right? I'm afraid I didn't think she was very good at all.

I'm thrilled they went with Viola Davis for the Suicide Squad movie, though. She was my choice for Waller before they even cast her. The last time that happened was with Patrick Stewart as Professor X.

It's the CW. They want young hot.

Well, they were probably just going with the version of Waller that existed in the comics at the time, though "they want young hot" is no doubt the explanation for DC's choice to change her look.

Anyway, I've come to terms with Addai-Robinson's supermodel Waller, because Arrow's version of Waller seems to have little in common with the original. Amanda Waller, at least in the version I know from the DCAU, is ruthless and Machiavellian, sure, but she's basically acting for the greater good and has some integrity in her own way. Arrow's Waller is much more one-dimensional and sinister.

The best live-action Waller I've ever seen is Camryn Manheim on Person of Interest.

4x02...

They actually showed us Sarah's corpse. That was gruesome.

And our Samuel L. Jackson lookalike is Mr. Terrific. I figured that this Holt guy was important. I've heard of the character but I'm not that familiar with him.

Katie Cassidy's awful acting is becoming harder and harder to ignore. I expected her to improve over time, but the woman is hopeless.

I didn't think she was that bad. This was way better than the premiere and Thea was crazy awesome! :D Loved seeing Jeri Ryan :adore: It is a shame she won't be in more EPs. :(

Is Mr Terrific gonna invent T-Spheres to save the company? ;)

 Seeing Sara!

It seemed odd that they were playing Jeri's character as a contemporary of Moira's...ten-year age difference between the actresses.

Felicity as CEO just doesn't seem like a good fit. If Palmer is in so much trouble, maybe the CEO should be spending her time doing things other than personally laying off employees one at a time. They don't have an HR department?

I was going more on another role that I know Susanna Thompson from...she was playing the 40ish mother of teenagers over 15 years ago, while Jeri Ryan, who's about my age, was just entering her 30s. Jeri is just now catching up with Susanna in that area.

New thought.

Any takers on the grave from last week being Thea's?

Though different cause but Speedy died one of the comics iirc.

Still betting on Laurel. Something needs to balance the resurrection of Sarah and Quentin hasn't suffered enough yet apparently.

They finally got rid of the wig on the island flashbacks!
He is looking identical in both time frames now.

How can one island have so many different storylines over several years, it's fucking stupid, I really dislike the flashback stuff now . Arrow's origin story has been a mess since season 3.

This show is oddly inconsistent about violence. Diggle is going around shooting bad guys left and right, yet it's crossing the line when Thea almost kills someone?

And why didn't Felicity just have Curtis apply his algorithm the way he originally designed it, to develop ways to increase worker salaries rather than laying them off? It seems that would've been a simpler fix.

I agree. She's really a terrific actress. I've just been rewatching the Leverage episodes where she temporarily joined the team while Gina Bellman was on maternity leave, and she's an enormously better actress than Bellman (whose character was supposed to be a brilliantly convincing con artist, but who wasn't half as convincing or natural in her role-playing as Ryan was). I regretted it that the cast change wasn't permanent. Ryan is always great to watch, and I'm disappointed she was just here for one week.
