Evaluation Ordered For Lien

Well arguments about which fictional universe is real and which one is not aside...I hope things work out for her.

If someone pays her bail they presumably will end up taking her home with them or at the least looking out for her in some way and since no one has paid the fairly small bail I would conclude that those who could think it's better for her to be there. Maybe they've been trying to get her to go to a doctor and now the court has ordered this and it's a possible positive.

That would be part of her sentencing. She's not up to that bit yet.

You give county $2,500, and they give it right back if Jennifer shows up for her for court dates until she is found guilty or innocent.

Remanding her to someones custody is part of the bail hearing, and not some blank cheque which the county clerk exchanges for a fist full of dollars.

The way you say this though, it does sound like white slavery.

"Here is $2,500, where is my little blonde girl, receipt and warranty?"

I haven't been beating the bushes looking, but I've yet to see any comments on Jennifer's situation from any of her former colleagues. Has anyone come across something of the sort?

I wouldn't expect any substantive comments about her condition because she's been about as isolated from her cohorts as she likely has been with other people in general, as well as being out of respect for her privacy even in the off chance that any of them have kept up with her and have such knowledge.

I'm thinking more of just a simple reaction to the circumstances, that expresses sorrow, sympathy, well wishes, etc. Pretty much any comment at all I suppose.

If the worst is true, and this is what she was like 20 years ago, then they're all shutting the fuck up, because to talk about now, is to talk about then, and we'll find out some horrendous story like how she turned the warp core on the engineering set into a bloody big bong.

"She'd just drilled two holes into the set, down at shin level, no one noticed, but for six episodes, Voyager was totally powered by reefer resin, and if the insurance company or the suits at Paramount had found out, the show would have been cancelled."

As far as I recall none of the cast has ever said anything about her at any point and interviewers have refrained from asking over the years.

I know one con organizer who when asked if they could get Lien to come to a con replied with "no way I'm touching that huge headache" or words to that effect. I wouldn't be surprised if she was on some no-invite list as far as cons go.

I think if she was anywhere nearly afflicted by her MENTAL ILLNESS then as has become clear in recent years, there would have been no way she would have been able to perform at all, seriously and with clear intent as was the case or even as in your fancifully jocular scenario. Again, I would posit that what was mainly in play at that point was her frequently cited social anxiety disorder.

That's likely the case over the last five years or so, but of course she did make a number of appearances going further back and I believe she continued to be sought, in part, because she had become a strange mysterious figure whose life path made her almost seem as if she were some kind of abstraction. Obviously, given a prolonged history of reticence, spaciness, and/or vacantness on stage and during photo sessions, as well as cancellations, the interest in earnestly pursuing Jennifer to appear was likely quelled quite a bit as time went on. I imagine that there may have been occasions that organizers simply couldn't find her.

On your first point, see the remarks on the following beginning at 47:27. I've seen a few other similar comments from other conventions. Also, there are the very laudatory statements from Mulgrew, Phillips, and Russ from the DVD bonus tracks. I understand that is a bit different kind of offering.

Get her out, send her here, and I'll get her to my blasted dr. which is what someone should have done in the first place. I believe the only reason she's in this mess (and she's not the only one there are tons people) is because no one gave a leap. I'd be there too were it not for a bit of luck. Her family and friends must suck.

LonelyGirl please don't make such assumptions about her family. We have no idea what's been tried and what level of burn out or need for boundaries is now in place.

Quote from tonight's Greys Anatomy: "I can't have sex with you, you're a Cylon! ...THIS IS GALACTICA!"

Even if she's diagnosable, we can't be sure if Jennifer's crazy has anything to do with her behaviour. More than one thing can happen at the same time. A person trying to stay out of jail will say most anything. If she made some bad rational decisions enough to get her looked up, it's lucky that Jennifer might have the "crazy-card" to play, resting in her back pocket.

I can't speak to the effort any friends may have made, but keep in mind that Jennifer was charged in 2012 with domestic violence against her mother and I kind of doubt that she had moved to Tennessee to look after her parents. Almost certainly the reverse.

I just discovered that Jennifer Lien has been removed from the "Cast Database" at the startrek.com site.

Obviously, no support or compassion to be found there despite three years of good work for them.

Kes ist still in the "Characters Database". I wonder for how long, considering all efforts they did to make us forget the character in seasons 4 and 5 until they decided to destroy the character.

startrek.com WTF is wrong with you !?!

Here is a sad story but it attests to the insensitivity of the powers that be at startrek.com:

I used to play star trek elite force online back when it was popular in the early 2000's. We had a clan member from NY and when 911 happened her fiance was killed. I remember her telling me in msn messenger one day how upset she was about a startrek.com 911 reference that showed up like 3 weeks after the buildings fell. It was part of some timeline of history thing the site had before it shut down. I cant remember exactly how it was worded, but it was something about how after the attack, earth realized it needed to unite in peace or something like that. I can't remember exactly why but it really upset her, and at the time I didn't really get it, but thought who was I to judge her reaction.

What's the consensus on the next remastering of 2001 A Space Odyssey including footage of the towers falling?

In the issue of Amazing Spider-Man "commemorating" the event, Doctor Doom surveyed the rubble in person, and shed a single tear.
