And here's the synopsis:

The Full Circle Fleet has resumed its unprecedented explorations of the Delta Quadrant and former Borg space. Commander Liam O'Donnell of the U.S.S. Demeter makes a promising first contact with the Nihydron—humanoid aliens that are collectors of history. They rarely interact with the species they study but have created a massive database of numerous races, inhabited planets, and the current geopolitical landscape of a large swath of the quadrant. When an exchange of data is proposed via a formal meeting, the Nihydron representatives are visibly shaken when Admiral Kathryn Janeway greets them. For almost a century, two local species—the Rilnar and the Zahl—have fought for control of the nearby planet Sormana, with both sides claiming it as their ancestral homeworld. The shocking part is that for the last several years, the Rilnar have been steadily gaining ground, thanks to the tactics of their current commanding officer: a human woman, who appears to be none other than Kathryn Janeway herself...

Somewhat more colorful than the other covers before. I'm looking forward to the story itself.

Fantastic cover art. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the next Voyager after just finishing Atonement. I can't wait to find out what happens to the Full Circle fleet and the Voyager crews next adventures in the Delta Quarant in A Pocket full of lies.

This is quite possible one of the best covers I've seen for TrekLit!! I love it.

But the story.... if Kirsten can pull this off - and her track record is stellar so far - then it'll be a great ride. If not, it could wind up being like bad fanfiction.

Any one else noticing the subtle pattern of lines following the "mirrored" Voyager? Look familiar at all?

Perhaps this is another undoing of a reset button push from Voyager... but what the Year of Hell do I know? ;)

My first instinct when I read the back cover description was "clone," but the cover art having the ship itself reflected made me think of "Deadlock" (probably because that was already done in a novel) and "Course: Oblivion." YoH is a good guess, too.

Beautiful cover. Obviously, couldn't be more excited. She's knocked every one of these out of the park for a whole now.

Very much been looking forward to this story since we first found out what it would be about. Seeing the cover gets me even more stoked.

Haven't posted in years, but have been faithfully lurking. I absolutely love this cover, and am so happy that Beyer's done such excellent work with VOY and its crew!

YoH is a good guess, too.

Especially since most of the other alien races mentioned (Rilnar, Zahl, etc.) were directly involved in the Year of Hell - they were wiped out by the Krenim.

I'm suspecting that the Krenim may be involved in this - seems just a bit too much of a coincidence that the other alien races in this novel were all involved with the Krenim and the YoH. (I wouldn't be surprised if other YoH races, like the Garenor, the Alsuran Empire, and the Mawasi turn up.) This has got to be tied together somehow.

Who is the cover artist?

That is a beautiful cover, and it is also a very interesting clue about the story. The way VOY is rippling made me think of the Silver Blood duplicate, but I could see one of the alternate universes like Year of Hell coming into play instead.

Dang, that's an awesome cover.

I don't recall the exact post, but I think Kirsten indicated in another thread that the episode(s) which A Pocket Full of Lies relates to will not be "Course: Oblivion".

As I recall, there was basically no question that she was referring to "Year of Hell". And the fact that those episodes will now actually count for something is amazing.

What I always loved about "Year of Hell" is that we heard about it when Kes was aboard, but it unfolded in the Seven of Nine years. So much story potential there!

I would love to see stuff from Year of Hell folded into the Prime (novel) Universe.
