Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Question for US subscribers. Are we still getting them mailed through USPS and given out tracking information?

Question for US subscribers. Are we still getting them mailed through USPS and given out tracking information?

The last one I received earlier this month was mailed USPS but my shipping notification was emailed the same day I received the package. It did have the tracking number included.

The last one I got earlier this week (TOS Enterprise and ECS Fortunate) was shipped by UPS, and I received a tracking number ahead of time.

I peeked into a local comic/collectible store on Friday and was surprised to see a TOS Enterprise hanging on the wall. Those types tend to get snatched up pretty quickly. I hadn't gotten any of the Enterprises from this set yet. I was actually thinking I might try and get one or two of those 3-packs at some point, so I could get them all at once, but this was too good to pass up.

This one's a huge improvement over the Johnny Lighting version I have (which is technically the Defiant 1764, but the same make). That one's saucer is too flat, the deflector dish sticks out too much, and the font for the name and registry is terrible. This one doesn't have any of those problem. Other than the glaring seam line along the side of the secondary hull, I really like it.

The saucer's metal, which I do admit is a bit disorienting. It makes the ship quite front-heavy, and I'm used to holding a ship like this by the drive section, which you can't really do. I supposed if you're going to have it connect to the stand by the saucer, that makes sense.

I'm really happy with it, though I'm having to get REALLY creative in finding room for yet another Eaglemoss ship on a bookcase that's COVERED with various Micro Machine, Furuta, and Johnny Lightning ships. Seriously, they're so close together that if one falls over, it knocks over at least half a dozen others like dominoes.

I've been trying to small used bookcase to fit the Eaglemoss ships on, but it's surprisingly hard to find one that's not too tall or wide.

Have any US subscribers gotten their Hirogen ship and USS Centaur this month? My card was charged very early in the month, but so far I've not received anything.

I must say, after having been very happy with Eaglemoss their service seems to have gone downhill the last couple of months. Last month I only received the Issue 50 Enterprise and no ECS Fortunate. Instead, there was just a note saying something like "due to popular demand, we'll send the Fortunate when we can." That really annoyed me; I've been a subscriber since before day 1 - you'd think knowing how many subscribers they have they would stock enough. They certainly took my money for it on schedule.

Now it's been nearly 3 weeks since my card was charged for this month's shipment and nothing to show for it. Hopefully this is just a blip, but if this becomes a regular occurrence I may reconsider my subscription. This is an expensive collection and every subscriber has paid them a lot of money. Fair customer service should be a no brainer.

Have you contacted them and asked what has been going on?

Haven't gotten mine yet, nor have I gotten the usual email notification, either. You're definitely not the only one. Probably a glitch in shipping. They're usually very reliable.

I contacted them about the ECS Fortunate not having been included in my package last month and got a pretty weak apology without explanation. I was going to contact them next week about shipping this month's, but it's starting to look like I'm not the only one in this position.

I haven't gotten an email for Issues #51 or #52 yet either. I was thinking that it was because they sent out September's models in late August.

I'm in the US and I'm a little behind everyone else but I haven't gotten a shipment for over a month either. I'm going to need to send them an email soon to see what's going on.

I got the NCC-1701 through my comic book shop last Wednesday, so it has definitely reached American shores. (It's so nice! A classic design, well-rendered.)

I got my 1701, ordered it from a toy/comic-book shop on-line, delivered USPS. Just opened it, this thing is gorgeous!

Similar concerns at the Trek Toy forum. As I said there, I was billed on 9/3 for the ECS Fortunate and TOS Enterprise, both of which I received last week (And had received a UPS tracking # ahead of time).

I'm also still awaiting the free Borg cube promised to subscribers. Anyone else still waiting for that? I know folks don't care for it, but I want to get everything that's included in the sub.

Quoted for posterity. You have a nice way of writing. I don't have a the shelving problem because I keep all the ships in two clear boxes. While I haven't received the Eaglemoss 1701 yet, I've had my friend's model in hand and find it superior even to the food Lightning version. (Mine is the Excalibur NCC-1664. Btw, poor Excalibur, Defiant and Reliant - XX64 is the unlucky number of Starfleet registries).

And my shop called me today to let me know that the Centaur was in.

I was thinking about doing that myself. I'm still not sure whether I'd want to order the Centaur first or the D'Kyr.

(And finding a cheap bookcase that tall enough but not too wide, too deep, or too expensive is proving difficult).

I noticed that about the '64 curse almost 20 years ago, when I kid. I think I'd be worried if I was assigned to what ship is NCC-1964.

Given that I'm inclined to pick them up occasionally, I think I'd want something open that gives easy access.
