Three years? Don't you mean thirty? As a whole the entire EU got a lot more depressing once Chewie died.
After that it was fair game. Han and Leia hopefully will have had a better three years in the new continuity.
Karen Traviss is a fine writer, but she was a terrible fit for Star Wars. I noticed she's written some Halo books since leaving Star Wars behind her. That's more her style, I think.

She was fine in the RC niche. I would have loved to see that series continue.
She had disdain for the Jedi it seems. Given how some others made them too powerful I saw it as a counterbalance. She perhaps went too far.
I wish she'd done the military Essential Guide. I'd have bought it.

I think possibly C-3PO (is it 0 the number or O the letter?).

As I recall, certain characters (one in particular comes to mind) do not come off well in her Halo series (and that seems to have annoyed certain elements of the fandom).
Yeah, I saw one of those BB-8 displays when I stopped by my local Target on Force Friday, although when my mom and I walked by him he didn't react.
Today is my birthday, so I decided to get myself something fun and got the Funko Pop Rey and Finn we had at work. I might get some others later.
Speaking of ..... BB-8 has made his first visit to Walt Disney World!
(Warning - SUPER cute!!!)
