i wanna see now the gold version of the new uniform.
Anyone else think look abit similar design to TMP uniform?

So far I think the new uni looks better on Spock than Scotty. It seems like his collar is a little higher, maybe? It has a very classic sci-fi look to it.
And if Spock's injured, it looks like that might be the basis of the Spock/McCoy stuff.

^Spock's collar was sometimes higher than the others', notably in the early first season and in TMP. This had something to do with making sure his makeup didn't smudge on the uniform collar, or something.
I thought I noticed the collar looked a little higher on Quinto's shirt than it did on Pegg's. I liked that higher collar look on Spock in TOS regardless of the reason for it. Kinda neat if they deliberately carried that over, here. That would be attention to detail.
I wonder if they're some kind of alternate landing party gear or a dress uniform. Based on what I've seen so far, I like the uniforms from the first two films better, as well.
I think putting them in new uniforms was one way to show some time had passed since STID. That said, from what we've seen of Scotty's and Spock's, I think they're OK, but I really liked the others much better. These are so plain by comparison. Like I could go to Macy's and buy one off the rack.
Some fans have hated the new uniformes, others didn´t like the uniforms from the previous films.
Go figure!

Or to differentiate the Enterprise crew from the crew of the downed Starfleet vessel?
My guess is that Idris Elba plays the captain of that downed vessel and has done something naughty — Prime Directive violation? — on the planet that Kirk and company have to fix. And the crew of that crashed ship might be sporting the previous movie uniforms so as to make it seem they've been there a while.
But that's just my guess.
Oh, I hope not. That's rather a TOS cliche, and I'm hoping for something new.
I think it would be a blast. After seven hundred episodes, twelve movies and hundreds of comics/novels, nothing is "new". It just needs to be done well, whatever it is.
