Falling Skies - Season 5: Discussion and Spoilers

A giant winged predator picked him up and flew off.

Tom had to have been Black Hornet scat by now by Pope's appraisal.

So in the three episodes Pope's been in charge of his own gang after being upset that people are dying under Mason's watch.... he left defenseless people behind to fend for themselves, he killed someone who was hurt because he wasn't useful at that exact moment, and he had two men fight to the death. And that's in addition to torturing Hal with the intention of killing him in front of Tom, and then killing Tom.

Yeah, crazy...

Now, wasn't Pope kinda that before he joined the 2nd Mass?

Really dumb way to end his arc... unless he wins up being like Gollum

Yeah, his gang at the beginning of season 1 was violent and unstable (they killed Anthony's friend, which he's conveniently forgotten), with hints that they did terrible things to Maggie. Then the show became family-friendly and it all went away, and then suddenly in season 5 they've decided to become dark again.

When I kill people on purpose it's completely random and pointless, as it should be! When Tom Mason gets people killed in combat, it's to serve the actual goal of winning the war, which is totally unacceptable! Raaarrrghh, angst and darkness and the futility of life type stuff!

Where the 2nd mass is, the farm house with the communicator, the farm house pretending the war hasn't happened, where Pope is, and where the US Army is holed up, are all within four hours walk of each other.

GFY Falling Skies writers.

I have a real question, was the person who gave Pope a girlfriend the same person who killed her and... Sewiously is that Eric's chair from Fangtasia that Pope is sitting on?

And will we get to see Pope wash his great bald head from a bowl of water before he dies?

If that was Pope's grand plan and that's how he goes out, then boy did the writers have no idea what to do with him.

If he's still alive, then boy did the writers have no idea what to do with him. :p

So the only purpose for Pope's 10-second attack on the base was to get that one guy back into the "redeemed" category? Anyone think it's possible that Pope is going to emerge burned & scarred from the rubble just in time for the big battle in DC? Anyone still care?

There ain't gonna be a big battle in DC. Tom is gonna get carried off again to talk to aliens and then save the day with the magic glowing dildo bomb.

Pope's not dead. Granted, it wouldn't surprise me if he was as this season has been 50x worse than most. But I'd be shocked if he didn't show up at the last second.

God, I'm glad this series is almost done. Had I known it would have gotten this bad this year, I would've left it at the end of season 4.

Tom's gonna arrive at the Lincoln Memorial and instead of Abe Lincoln it's going to be a statue of Pope. End credits.

Because of statellite problems this was the first ep. I'd seen this season and it looks like they going all or nothing for the finale, which is disappointing. It'd be nice to have some kind of aftermath showing what's next for humanity and the earth. And no I think Pope's dead either, he's going to pull a Han Solo and try to be the hero in the end.

No, the writers room is insane.

Pope has judged that Tom Mason killed his girlfriend.

There's no coming back from that.

It's like how Anikan turned to the Darkside to resurrect Padme in the future from a certain death during childbirth, when all he really needed to do was stop ####ing her, or get a spacevasectomy.

Stupid people who do not understand the nature of the universe lash out at innocent parties when they feel wronged.

Pope is the Jason of Falling Skies. He will keep popping up.

It did kind of surprise me that Lexi was a plant, so points for that. But the Espheni communicator, the super bio-weapon, and the Espheni queen all came out of nowhere. Another show without a plan making things up at the last minute. Well, hopefully we'll at least get some good scenes of Tom and the Attack of the 50-Foot Espheni Queen at the Lincoln Memorial.

No one has yet made a joke on the show that Pope is the anti-Christ? ;)

Man...this wrap-up is terrible...kinda the opposite of Fringe
