I'm still surprised Samuel L. Jackson won't be in it, even just for a scene or two.
Maybe it'll be a double-reverse, fooled-you-again surprise appearance?

Could be a short cameo akin to Chris Evans appearing on Thor 2 for 30 seconds though it seems strange to have this storyline without the involvement of Shield/Fury.
Then again the movies destroyed Shield so they already took a big step sideways and made their own stories so anything is possible at this point.
I know it won't happen but wouldn't it be cool if they included the TV Shield crew in this? I know the exclusive Marvel movie crowd would go WTF, at best they'd recognize Coulson but one could still hope.

Well, why not? It's already an overly crowded flick. Hell, let's bring in Pepper, Thor, Jane, Selvig, Daredevil and his buddies, Coulson and his crew, the Howling Commandos, Red Skull, we'll have been introduced to Jessica Jones and Luke Cage by then, so them, the Guardians, and just for shits and giggles, oh, I don't know... Magneto*.

Seems to me that Fury would have some kind of role in a superhero registration debate, but maybe I'm wrong. I know it's not a straight adaptation, but what was his role in the original storyline?

The first appearance was the second episode (it was basically a post-credits scene) and then he had a significant role in the season finale.
I couldn't recall if he had anything in the second season, but I guess not.

Can't really make a real judgment yet given the low quality of the photo and this is just an on-set shot without taking into account post-production and color correction in the final film. But it looks to be very close to that concept art, which is promising.

Given the cables on it, I think there's a lot we need to wait and see. It could even be CG in post-production. But it looks promising.
