The Motion Picture to play Ann Arbor

Headsup for folks in the southeastern Michigan/northern Ohio area: the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor is playing Star Trek: The Motion Picture as part of its Summer Classic Film series. It's to run Sunday the 9th and Tuesday the 11th of August.

Sad to say, family obligations keep me unavoidably out of Ann Arbor exactly those days. But, hey, The General is running later this month, and Duck Soup the week of the 16th!

I was on vacation in Ann Arbor the same time last year, when the retro SF movie was CE3K. I attended with my Trekfan penpals - and was able to find another fellow TMP via Facebook, and rendezvous after the show!

Sorry, hadn't seen (or noticed) your post. Well, here's hoping folks who want to see it won't miss it.

I do remember seeing the poster listing Close Encounters last year, but back then I had to be away for ... oh, I think that must've been the big Clementon/Knoebels Amusement Park Tour. Finally got to ride the Flying Turns, which Knoebels finally opened after seven or so years of construction! Yeah, it was worth it.

Ann Arbor's Pinball Pete's desperately needs more work. A shakedown cruise at least.

(Sadly, their Star Trek pinball broke down in the middle of a pinball tournament a couple weeks back.)

Find out which Boston cinema hosts retro movies and ask them. Offer to help advertise in the places where Trek nerds hang out.
