Star Wars: Episode VII: The Nerd Rage Awakens

Mid-August is close enough to be considered "Fall". Most kids are in school already by then.

I tend to agree. But there are fans that will be foaming at the mouth about what a liar Abrams is if another trailer drops before 12:01 AM on September 23rd.

Foaming at the mouth? It's merely an observation that we aren't always told the truth and we may get something we were told we wouldn't get. Things aren't always negative in life.

Probably either a Rebels preview or the first teaser for Rogue One as Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation will be out by then.

Here's a leaked image of an alien X-Wing Pilot:

Awesome! The more practical alien makeup and masks the better. This is getting a very Return of the Jedi feel to it, at least in terms of the depiction of alien species.

Wonder if the Resistance will have more than just the newer model X-wings? Its been 30 years and all, but if they are still scrounging for ships, the starfighter fleet will still be a mix-mash of different types, rather than the more uniform Imperial style units.

The X-Wings in the two trailers don't appear to have astro droids in them, so I think there been some changes.

I'm sure it's already been posted, but did you see the comic con reel? It brought a tear to my eye.

We already know that the X-wings in the new movies are a different model, the T70 as opposed to the original trilogy's T65.

Yep, I saw the Comic-Con footage reel multiple times and loved it each and every time. :) Best moment of the entire Comic-Con if you ask me.

As per astromechs being used in the new X-Wing Fighters, the LEGO version of Poe Dameron's fighter that was just revealed online shows BB-8 in the droid socket behind his cockpit, so perhaps they do indeed support droids just like the older fighter design but we have yet to see them in images from the set or the film itself?

We know they are new models. My question would be if they have any other types of fighters (old or new)? In the first film they have X-wings and a smaller number of Y-wings. By Return of the Jedi they added A-wings and B-wings. Would the Resistance have a B-wing like fighter in its forces? A "bomber" type?

It's kind of cool that it looks like Poe is flying in Blue Squadron. The original intent was to make A New Hope's X-Wings Blue Squadron. Not sure why they ever changed it to Red.

ILM had some trouble with the blue markings on the X-Wings and their blue screen SFX so they changed them to red.

This is why R2 blue panels sometimes look black in many of the space battle shots.

Also, in the novel and audio book version Luke's Squad is still referred to as "Blue Squad."
