Warner Bros. Circling David Ayer for DC Comics’ ‘Suicide Squad’

I don't know if we can judge too much from this teaser trailer - they still have a couple of months of shooting to go, after all.

If I were to pick one I'm disappointed in, it's Enchantress. I'm not saying use her original costume (there are more modern adaptations), but what the hell is that? She looks like something from the Grudge.
I think her look is interesting, and I especially like the headpiece and her haunted expression. Her skin seems to be greenish and covered with occult tattoos. So based on this one glimpse I think the look is effectively eerie, but she must've been chilly on set!

That trailer has a lot of shots that resemble specific scenes from Batman: Assault on Arkham. Anyone know if that was intentional? While I liked that movie, I hope this one goes somewhere different.

well BvS is borrowing a bit from the dark knight returns and injustice gods among us.

This iteration of Joker more closely resembles the joker from the Killing Joke.

They are definitely drawing inspirations from specific sources. But by no means are these stories/characters being 100% adapted from the comics. Nor should they. The movie universe is its own thing. I'm loving this DCCU they're building.

Do we know yet whether SS and BvS will take place in the same Cinematic Universe?

Yes, it's all the same universe - Superman is mentioned and Batman makes a cameo in this film.

Do we know that the Batman and Superman in SS are the same Batman and Superman in BvS? Who's playing Batman and Superman in SS?

Yup. Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Flash, Cyborg, Lantern Corps, Suicide Squad, Justice League 1 & 2, Wonder Woman are the DC movies we have slated between now and 2020 that are 100% for sure in the same universe.

There will also be a Batman stand alone, and Mos 2 movie thrown in there at some point, but there is no date set yet. Maybe 2020 based on availability of Cavill and/or Affleck.

There's also a Shazam movie(with The Rock as Black Adam) slated for 2019. But it's not confirmed whether it will be in this universe, or its own universe as of yet.

Seeing as despite the DCCU being more gorunded in realism Suicide Squad is including Killer Croc in all his reptilian glory, I'm hopeful that means any future Batman movies in the DCCU will be able to use Batman's weirder enemies.

I wouldn't mind a new Riddler. To get that Schumacher taste out of my mouth. And Maybe Hush to be the muscle of the movie.

I was disappointed we never got a Nolan-style Riddler. I love the idea of Nygma as a brilliant, calculating criminal mastermind manipulating everyone from behind the scenes, playing intricate chess games with the lives of the people of Gotham. Schumacher totally missed the point of the character by painting him as manic and zany like a bargain-basement Joker. Jokes are emotional, but riddles are intellectual. They're challenges for the brain. The Riddler should be a match for Batman's intellectual side, a challenge to the master detective.

Agreed. The Riddler always seemed like he would be the perfect fit for a Nolan Batman movie, especially considering the intricate puzzle-like nature of his previous movies Memento and Inception.

And he certainly would have made for a far more interesting villain than, ugh... Bane.

Bane is actually a good villain. His intelligence is equal to Batman, and his strength is superior to Batman. He was just relegated to the muscle in the Nolan films. Talia Al Ghul was the real villain of the movie. Rises was just a mistreatment all around. Though don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed the movie. But the villains weren't handled well.
