The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

And they made barely 100 of them over a seven- or eight-year period, but it just seemed like a lot more back then. The play value mattered more than getting a dozen different versions of each character, because you could use imagination to create a dozen (or more) different Darth Vaders and you didn't need removable body parts, helmets or face masks and new versions in stores every few months.

I completely agree. The figures represented the characters well enough.. they might have had much articulation, but there was a lot of detail there. Kids used to use their imagination to give these figures life. I'd love to get a hold of more Kenner figures

Since Comicon was so disappointing, I'm going to post the leaks we have of Titan Wars in lieu of the stuff that should have been announced.

First images of Titan Wars has leaked.

Looks like the rumors/podcasts were right: larger headmaster robots that transform into base modes that can interact with various minicon/master sized robots as well as connect with other bases.

Just from what we know: Optimus, Soundwave, Blaster (not a remold of Soundwave) and IDW Fortress Maximus will get toys.

Hopefully Soundwave is a tape record and not a cybertronian lightpole as suggested by some of the more analytical fans. But I guess this explains the purpose of the rumored Ravage toy and the legends Buzzsaw we saw at Botcon

Okay, now THAT actually looks pretty good. Like the 1980s just called and said they're coming home. (But in a good way.) Now we just have to wait to see how Hasbro will screw it up....

*waits for every Titan Wars toy to turn out to be a remold or repaint of this figure*

At least five new 6" Black Series figures were revealed at the Hasbro Comic-Con Panel.

1. Jango Fett (with removable helmet)
2. Ahsoka Tano (realistic style based on her appearance in Rebels)
3. Kanan Jarrus (realistic style)
4. Luke Skywalker (Tatooine Farmboy)
5. Special Forces TIE Pilot (flight suit from The Force Awakens and packed with the new 6"-scale First Order TIE Fighter)

Did some shoppin' at Hasting's yesterday...

Ant-Man, Ant-Man

I'll be incorporatin' the Ant-Man action figure into my "Avengers Assembled" costume.

I saw the new Ant-Man figure at a local Walmart the other day. I don't collect Marvel figures but he did look really cool.

One of Gaming's iconic villains has returned! Dr. Robotnik. Shelled out a pretty penny for him, but I need more villains in my collection. Also pretty chaos emerald! :D

At SDCC, IDW let slip that Hasbro has plans to return both Micronauts and ROM to toy shelves, though nothing will likely be seen until next Toy Fair in February.

Isn't Marvel doing a new ROM Comic?

I have always thought they should make a trade with Marvel to publish Death's Head in TFs for Marvel getting Rom.

Rom was one of my favorite Comicbooks when I was a kid. I even had the Rom action figure, it was the coolest. I really wish I still had it!

You start from scratch and make stuff up as you go along.

So essentially Rom in name only?

Well, back 2000, Marvel did a Rom book without Rom. Space knights.

Yes which is distressing more so since no Mantlo. Marvel also destroyed Galador offscreen in Infinity and DnA mess up Brandy in their Annihilators mini, which also featured a new Space Knight They clearly don't know what to do with the properties since they are missing the main character.

Rom was one of my favorite Marvel Comics as a kid. He had one of the coolest designs of any Marvel hero of that era and a big-budget "Rom: The Space Knight" film could be one of the best MCU movies they could make.

Yeah, he kinda does.

I hate that he's the only movie based action figure in the line, though. All the others are comic book action figures.

Really wanted the movie version of Ultron...

:(

I hadn't noticed that. I thought there'd be more movie figures included in the new assortments than just Paul Rudd's version of Ant-Man.

TRU has exclusive 2 packs with Cap/Widow, Ironman/Fury, and Hawkeye/Falcon. They are reissues except falcon and he looks pretty good, for a movie representation.

CCC.
