DAWN TREADER

The Dawn Treader was the first Narnian sailing ship constructed since the land’s golden age, built for a special voyage to seach for and rescue a group of Narnian heroes.

The ship was constructed with features common to Viking long ships, with a prominent dragon masthead and a single mast with a large square sail to catch the wind, as well as rows of oars for times when there was no wind available. Though the crew was comprised of several warriors armed for melee warfare, the ship herself was unarmed.

THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER

Based on the third novel in the Chronicles of Narnia series by C.S. Lewis, Voyage of the Dawn Treader tells the story of the younger Pevensie siblings’ return to the land of Narnia just as Caspian X has embarked on a sea adventure. The children are rescued by and join the crew of the Dawn Treader.

I've neither read C. S. Lewis' Narnia novels nor seen the movies based on them, but it's a very pretty boat (though a tad over-decorated).

By happenstance my wife and I watched this for the first time ever this morning. It was pretty good.

Awesome!

I was disappointed, though hardly surprised, that the whole Narnia heptalogy wasn't filmed.

I read earlier today that they're beginning work on The Silver Chair.
