Re: Reason why I am not happy for a 4th film.
At least I've got higher hopes for the script this time. I hope I may change my attitude to the fourth film after I've seen the third.
I'd still prefer something different, preferably on T.V...
I've had enough of Kirk and Co. to be honest. At least ones not played by Shatner, Nimoy and associates. I don't like Pine and although Quinto's quite good, the only one of the new cast I really like is Urban. Much as I like him usually, I don't even like Pegg as Scotty.I love these characters and am happy to be stuck with them!![]()
I love these character too, but don't you want to see something new from ST eventually?
Can't live in the past forever.
I'm getting old and I don't want to see anything new. I enjoyed the other versions of "Star Trek", but really what we're getting now is new, after a fashion. It's Kirk, Spock, and the others with something they seldom had before, an ample budget and consistently high production values all around.
I'd take six or eight high-quality movies in whatever combinations of characters I could get versus 60 to 80 new TV episodes of yet another version of a "Star Trek" show. Besides, the way things tend to be done these days, it would probably take eight or ten years to get all those shows. And like I said, I'm old (and impatient).
Besides, there's plenty of life left in Kirk and Spock. Their adventures were cut way short to begin with.
