Picard is Wesley's father?

Are you drawing parallels between the worms of Dune the worms of tequila and the worms that got followed in the wall by floyd?
I once thought my fingers were worms .. you know tapping away at the keyboard they all knew each other and I could hear them talking like the kid in the shinning except it was all ten fingers not just one in the mirror with itself. :)
I think therefore I know ... I think 000

Oh the work from today/nite// I just posted HIjol :) for your listening pleasures - distractions the sounds seem to point to the fact that we are way off topic ... and so fourths..

I will most definitely tune in the instant I get home. I may also chant some Shai-Hulud mating calls and recite from "The Poetry of Paul-Muad-Dib.

Watch those Brain-Worms..."hey, you..."

Thank you for your new efforts! :techman:

Thanks for the compliment,.. Appreciated,.. I will put this comment on that post ok? ----

The only way Picard could be his father is if Jack was sterile and they couldn't create a swimmer using Jacks DNA for some reason so they oceans 11 some of Picards swimmers instead.

And, BTW, reviving six-year-old threads is frowned upon here!

I know this is perhaps a dumb question, and certainly off-topic too, but I've seen this kind of remark more often and never fully understood the reasoning behind it.

So, (since the remark has been made anyway), why is it considered better (at least on this forum) to start a fresh thread in that case ? Is it because some of the "old"posters may no longer be active members ?

One of the Peter David novels features an alternate universe where Picard and Beverly have a torrid love affair after she'd divorced Jack (and who was also still alive), and it's mostly as salacious and scandalous as you'd think it would be, motivating a sense of revenge from Jack that furthers the plot of the book.

Well, to be fair, Jack only acted like that because he was being manipulated by Trelane. Under normal circumstances he would not react the way he did. Jack went nuts because Trelane made him, nothing more.

And besides, that timeline's version of Jack and Beverly are indeed already divorced, so why would Jack care if Beverly and Jean-Luc had a thing going? Jean-Luc wasn't the cause of their breakup (Wes' death was), so it's not like Jack could place any blame there.

How do you know what Jack Crusher would have been like under normal circumstances? I never said Jack blamed Picard for anything. But I do understand that Jack would be pretty goddamn furious about Picard hooking up with Beverly.

Let me ask it this way: Has there ever been a Mrs. Laser Beam? And did she then divorce you, only to go to bed with your best friend afterward? If so, how, exactly, did that make you feel?

I guess we don't know for sure how Jack would "normally" react but my point still stands, the reason Jack went insane in the novel was because Trelane made him do it. That much IS clear. And just because Trelane made Jack go nuts doesn't mean a "normal" Jack would.

Like I said, that timeline's reason for Jack and Beverly's divorce had nothing to do with Jean-Luc. So that's something, anyway.

I agree - the reason for the divorce was not anyone's fault. And I agree that yes, Trelane definitely manipulates Jack.

Your wording earlier was clumsy though, as if it were out of the realm of reason to believe Jack would have a problem with Picard and Beverly engaging in a love affair, when, clearly, it was absolutely a reasonable thing to believe -- even Trelane knew it!

Show a man that he is unique because he lived. Then show him that in the universes he died where he was much loved. In those universes, his son lives. Yet in most of those universe, his wife falls for his friend. In the one universe he lives, his now ex-wife still falls for friend, and son is dead.

Repeat until man goes bonkers.

I can't believe Trelane expected Jack to believe that, in an infinite multiverse, there's literally only ONE where Jack survives? :guffaw:

If his odds of surviving were one in a billion, than there could still be billions of Jack Crushers in the multiverse, but the overwhelming flood of Picard, Beverly, and Wesley would drown them all out. Trelane might have even looked for a bit and just hadn't bothered going over a billion alternate universes....he gets bored easy.
