Fun thread: Words that you like the sound of

1-3-5 Tri-Nitro Toluene
My favorite formula. Got me in a lot of trouble in high school.:mallory:

It can do that!

I seem to remember The Coyote had some difficulties. also!

'specially the stuff from ACME! No Good.

 BOOM!
My first experiment was on the football practice field. I blew a hole 6ft X 6ft X 6ft. My punishment (there was no such thing as In School Suspension in those days) was to stay after school shoveling dirt, replacing the sod (grass) and apologizing for my actions. (No slap on the wrist for me. They let the punishment fit the crime.)

On a lighter note: I was also awarded Highest Honor for Chemistry for all grades that year. :techman: Later, I became a demolitions expert on my Navy SEAL Team. You would, also, be amazed at how many common household items can be combined in "certain" interesting ways. ;)

trekker... or did that term finally die? :p

I have no idea I've always used the word trekkie
When TNG became popular, in the 1980s, the term "trekker" also became popular. While I can only speak from personal experience, it was somehow less "nerdy" [or whatever derogatory term was used then] to be a trekker than a trekkie. Fanboys were trekkies, people who liked ST were trekkers.

As a business professional and owner, being a trekker was deemed more acceptable, at least in my own circles. I knew a few Trekkies [my ex-fiancee is one] who looked down on Trekkers as "not real fans, but viewers". YMMV, of course. :techman:

If I remember correctly-- and this was almost 35 years ago-- Harve Bennett used the term "Trekker" instead of "Trekkie" in interviews during the Wrath of Khan Era. Trekkies were so over the moon about the return and revitalization of Trek that it became the preferred term. I suppose "Trekkie" does sound more frivolous, while "Trekker" sounds like you're one of the people actually going boldly, but I'll answer to both.

And Trekkies live in basements :D

I prefer, "Command and Control Bunker", if you don't mind!

Shit...sorry, give me a sec...

((((Mom, I am on line with my Frie... - uh, Central Command!!!...Jesus!! Gimme a minute!)))

...ok, I am back, and the term is, and always shall be, "Trekkie"!
