2015 MLB Season - Can the Cubs FINALLY win the World Series? (LOL NO)

Re: 2015 MLB Season - Can the Cubs FINALLY win the World Series? (No.)

I don't doubt that Manfred would sanction the team itself.

Why would he do that? None of the players or coaches were in on this.

The front office is still part of St. Louis Cardinals, LLC. Sanctions could range from a cash fine to taking draft picks to anywhere in-between -- the commissioner's office has pretty broad authority to act within "the best interests of baseball," and unlike the Alex Rodriguez suspension, for example, the activities of a front office aren't subject to collective bargaining protections. But at the end of the day, it's still an agent or agents of one team's front office stealing information from another team's, and that can't be allowed.

I'll be shocked if anything comes from this other then some low level employees being thrown to the wolves and the Cards having to pay a fine.

Change your passwords.

No matter what, it won't affect their on-field performance, and they're usually good enough that losing a low 1st round draft pick won't be a major blow either.

If they're even penalized a draft-pick.

No compensatory draft picks for 500 years and a 2 billion dollar fine. I think that's fair.

The Cards would still win more World Series during that time frame than the Cubs. ;)

I hate to admit that's possible, but the Cards have managed to win when half the team is on the DL.

Possibly, but they'd be tainted with this cheating and PED use. (in my mind)

Top of the 3rd and Schwarber is 2 for 2, triple & single with 2 RBI.

The triple is the surprise, the guy is a moose.

The Cubs are making up for last night. It's 10-0 after 3 innings. Getting shut out really wakes this team up.

When Mozeliak was asked if he felt responsible should anyone in his department be found guilty of breaching the Astros' computer system, Whittle interrupted, and said it was a question that Mozeliak should not answer.

That's cool, being behind bars will put him amongst many of the Cardinal faithful!

No kidding. Schwarber can legitimately rake, but the Cubs really have nowhere to stash him -- again, they're praying he can stick as a catcher because his time in the outfield was a bad joke. But, good God almighty, he can hit.

The Cubs added 7 runs in the 9th off a pair of position players.

And they already had Vogelbach who can hit but has no position.

They'll jam him in at catcher no matter what.

Todd Frazier is the first player to have two multi - homer games in a row - with the last HR being a grand slam.

He's on my fantasy team ;)

I'm sure they'd love to, but I believe the 21% caught-stealing percentage that he's currently rocking at AA would immediately make him the worst in the league by that particular metric.

Kinda - it'd be a pick-em at the bottom.

Not too bad for a 22-year-old. And I didn't meant they'd call him up permanently now - only that they want him to stick for the future. I imagine he'll go back down this weekend and come up in September after playing out the year in AAA.

Yes, the team said he's only up for the six interleague games and then he's going to Iowa.
