Lest you think that my flat ships in the Alien Ships thread were the extent of my abilities, I decided to post some Federation ships.
First up:
The U.S.S. Cheetah
NCC-7775
I don't recall a class name (I actually named some with classes but have since lost that list).
As you can see by the color and unusual design of the ship, it's not your standard nebula-exploring starship. The dark grey coloring and compact nature of the ship with weapons abounding were meant for a war vessel. Something small, fast, maneuverable and could even be used in secret missions.
Sorry for the poor images -- that's the best tech' I have available to me.
As you can see, it's got an unusual yellow sensor dish and all-new warp nacelle design (I don't even think I've seen one like this in a fan picture before).
The Bridge has it's own personal shield strip, independent of the main shields. Four transporter pads, big-ass tan escape pods, plenty of orange thrusters for precise control, a warp core ejection panel on the bottom of the stardrive, and not one but three phaser strips on the top (including two long ones on the bottom). All this for an eight-story vessel.
(that red thing on the stardrive is the impulse engine; though not seen, it's shiny and reflective)
Side:
And the glory shot:
It's a wham-bam, thank you ma'am attacker.
As you can see, I took my nerd shit very seriously. Even though the images are poor, you can see I: made the red lines down the top of the ship and the pin and red lines on each side of the stardrive as traditional Federation ships have, transporter pads in the mold of the TNG ones, red and green flashing lights on the appropriate sides (with yellow ones on the front), the name and registration of the ship written in navy blue and outlined (with a white space betwixt) in red as in the movie and TNG era, drew the windows with a blue pend and filled them in with neon light blue for that TNG look, and put three torpedo launchers on the front and two on the back of the stardrive (I think quantum, but I don't recall). I even drew details on things like the thrusters and transporter pads.
It was one of the most ambitious designs and builds I had undertaken (later beaten by more ambitious and really wild designs).
