Who were your favourite companions

I liked Peri a good deal. I think she worked well with the 6th Doctor, even when they had a more argumentative relationship.

My mistake I didn't see the name there in the lists you quoted, or yours my mistake..

As far as old companions I liked those I put on my list and as far as the two Romana's it was always the 1st Romana. I first saw her in The Ribos Operation and that was 1980 and I was 13 going on 20 and she was my first ever celebrity crush and man how I crushed. Then came the Kroll episode and she looked so damn good .. "swoons"

And with that I will now shut up for now

In The Following Order:
-K9
-Romana 1 & 2
-Sarah Jane Smith
-The Brigidier
-Peri
-Liz Shaw
-Harry Sullivan

Could not stand:

Mel
Ace

Didn't care for, but didn't dislike:

Jo Grant
Leela

I've always loved Donna.

Me too. She was my favourite "new who" companion.

It is such a shame the way they ended her run on the show though. That was the lousiest writing and heartbreaking. At least when a companion had died in the past they had died but this was worse then that.

I agree it was heartbreaking, but I didn't think it was lousy at all. I thought it was exactly what the word "tragic" means. Far more emotionally resonant than the hollow garbage that was Amy and Rory's exit years later.

I still can't stand Amy and Rose. Am I alone in this?

I've liked all the new Who companions.

nobody ever remembers Sara Kingdom and especially Katarina - poor girl is still probably floating around in space somewhere

Being that the Dalak's Master Plan is still at least partly missing, and those two were not companions for very long, they kind of get missed a lot. Both dying on the Doctor's watch almost two decades before Adric in show.

The First Doctor went though a lot of companions. Had the Timelords not stopped him, the Second Doctor probably would have kept Jamie and Zoe around until they were old and grey. And they probably would have wanted to stay.

Yes she was, though in fairness it wasn't really skintight, she wasn't Seven/T'Pol, and she didn't wear it all the time.

Part of the time, yes (it was purple though you couldn't tell that in black and white). Brilliant girl. Could seemily easily outthink the Second Doctor in maths and sciences. Not so good with other matters, as she was still rather young and had focused on her studies.

Not sure how she'd get along with the Third Doctor, who was more brilliant in some ways to the Second. Or the Fourth Doctor, who's ego would in turn take any suggestions and turn them into his own.

Zoe sounds like an awesome companion. Smart and clever too

She was in 8 Serials, that totaled 50 episodes, and the catsuit was only in part of one Serial, so, it's a little misleading to say "Part of the time", it was only a couple of episodes

Yeah, Zoe was. Someone who could actively work with the Doctor on scientific actions and plans, she could be just as smart or smarter. This could lead to an amusing intellectual rivalry between the two like in The Krotons.

^ What I recall from The Krotons:
"The Doctor is almost as clever as I am!"

I think she was trying to assure someone that Two wasn't just the buffoon he appeared to be. If memory serves, he was doing a lot of clowning around in that story.

Zoe also appears in The Five Doctors, although as a phantom. She's wearing a bit of a weird, "bubble-wrap" dress that was supposed to hide Wendy Padbury's pregnancy at the time I think.

Padbury's also played Zoe and other characters for Big Finish.
