Jenna Signs Up For Movie Role

If the producers cast Jenna knowing that she had commitments for Doctor Who, then they almost certainly set up the filming schedule to accommodate that.

We'll see how often she's spotted on (DW) location over the next few months as compared to Capaldi. Certainly for the last two episodes she's been there a fraction of the time he (and Maisie Williams, for that matter) has. Actually that's true for everything except Episodes One & Two so far.

I guess the other factor to consider is who’s the companion if she isn’t showing up in filming? Unless Capaldi is just going with companion of the week (which I guess isn’t impossible) then if Jenna’s not there there has to be someone else in her stead?

Actually, given that this season seems to be mostly two-parters, than they could get away with guest companions for every two-parter.

In fact, I could see this working with what is either known or rumoured about the season so far. The companions for each story could be as follows

Episodes 1 and 2: Clara, obviously.
Episodes 3 and 4: Rumoured to feature K-9.
Episodes 5 and 6: Maisie Williams is in this story.
Episodes 7 and 8: Clara again?

So if she's doing both at the same time, then by definition DW can't be her full-time job. I know people have suggested that she might only have a small part in it but she's playing the main character's sister, which is actually one of the main supporting roles.

Michael J. Fox famously filmed Family Ties during the week and Back to the Future (the first one) on the weekends. They wouldn't downsize his role on the sitcom to afford him time to film the movie, and they structured his shoot on Back to the Future in such a way to maximize his two days per week on set.

I am not saying that Jenna is as important to this film as Fox was to BTTF, but there's nothing particularly weird about this situation, nor does it mean that Jenna is no longer full-time with Who. If the producers cast Jenna knowing that she had commitments for Doctor Who, then they almost certainly set up the filming schedule to accomodate that.

I believe Sarah Michelle Gellar was shooting Buffy and one of the Scooby Doo movies at the same time as well.

Another sign of Something Odd going on (that will no doubt turn out to be meaningless come September), Coleman and Capaldi haven't been seen on location together once this series.

Wasn't there a rumor that Clara would be traveling with Missy instead of the Doctor this season?

It's also possible that the season as a whole is being shot way out of order, much as Series 7B was, with all of the TARDIS scenes being shot late in the shoot because the set simply wasn't ready yet.

So today, for the first time since shooting began at the start of January, Jenna and Peter have actually been seen shooting a (single) scene together, albeit following two weeks in which he spent all his time with Ingrid Oliver, while she was (once again) by herself.

By the looks of it, it appears to be from the end of the story but it isn't a jolly, "Let's head off for another fun adventure in space and time" moment.

Maybe if that rumor is true, It's Clara who is "The Witches's familiar".

I mean, it's she who arranged they meet in the first place, and although this was kind of explained a bit in Death In Heaven, I doubt that's the end of it. Also you have Clara dressing like Missy in recent filming.

I wonder when the trailer will arrive for this new season? We didn't get one last year until a month or so before Deep Breath, if I remember correctly, although a few teasers arrived before then.

For 7B, did they bring back the original directors? Or did they just have one director do all of the TARDIS scenes once the new set was ready?

I believe they used the same director. Sadly, I'm blanking on the moment who that was.

Well, I'll reserve final judgment until I actually see what happens, but if series 9 is six stories of Clara not being with the Doctor most of the time and instead traveling with the Mistress, and the Doctor not having a constant companion...I don't know how I feel about that. They just repaired their relationship only to be separated again?

Also, didn't they do the whole UNIT thing with Martha where she was part of an operation or something? The photos of Jenna with that UNIT bazooka or whatever make me wonder if we're traversing old ground.

I'll give it the benefit of the doubt for now.

Obviously we can only go on what's happened in public (which means we know basically nothing about Episodes 3&4) but it certainly looks like Maisie Williams takes the Companion spot in 5&6 and Ingrid Oliver clearly does in 7&8, while Jenna has separate storylines.

The evidence is mounting, I just wonder why Clara would do it given who Missy is and what she did? Unless it’s actually the Doctor’s idea and Clara is there to keep Missy in check?

If it happens this way they better come up with a good reason for it. Given the events of Death in Heaven, how would Clara deal with being "that creature's" companion? And given the Master's track record, why would the Doctor risk Clara being anywhere near him/her? You'd think that if the Mistress was back, the Doctor would take care of her himself, clap her in irons, etc. I'm guessing they must get separated somehow and Clara has no choice.

In any case, the possibilities don't exactly fill me with enthusiasm.

If it happens this way they better come up with a good reason for it.

When they went to Tenerife to shoot for Episodes 1&2 back in March one of the scenes they shot was Clara begging Missy to help her save the Doctor. Now I can imagine that she's not going to do that and not expect something in return...

The speculation is that the titles of both episodes refer to Clara. She starts off as "The Magicians Apprentice" but ends up as "The Witch's Familiar".

Prince Harry has been spotted flirting up a storm with Doctor Who star Jenna Coleman.

The 30-year-old royal, who split from long-term girlfriend Cressida Bonas last September, was pictured resting his hand on the actress's knee while the pair chatted at a polo bash.

An onlooker told The Sun newspaper: "From their body language it looked like they were really enjoying each other's company."

She gets insanely more gorgeous every time they photograph her

Why would she go for a prince when she's got a King from the North?

I literally forgot to breathe for a second when I saw that photo. Is that the definition of "breathtaking"?

Tabloid garbage aside, that is a stunning pic. Which is part of the reason why I'd be bummed if we indeed get less Clara this year.

"Fine looking companion you got there Doctor"

"What that old thing? I've had that for centuries."

She's has got a mole on her left shoulder. And it's all right! Love the mole

;)

Just wanted to post these pictures before we get back on track

Because he's a real Prince rather than a fake king? ;)

She really is gorgeous, but she's not my type, so given the choice Karen G still reigns supreme in my fanboy heart :)
