Star Wars: Episode VII: The Nerd Rage Awakens

The world needs more Ahsoka. She is the best character in TCW, on the same level as Rex and Cody.

I couldn't stand her at first and she grated on my nerves. Now she's become one of the best things to happen to the Star Wars franchise in this century.

Especially since Rebels seems to be building up her confronting Darth Vader. This may be one of the most tense scenes that animated Star Wars has ever done. Done right, it can rival scenes from the original trilogy.

Asohka is probably my favorite character from TCW as well. :) She had grown from snippy youngling to badass Padawan/damn near Jedi Knight...and I just adored her from start to finish.
Yeah, she had an amazing arc, amazing journey.

I'm incredibly hyped for this. Filloni is sitting on a gold mine here.

If that happens, it will be one of the best moments in SW history.

One thing to remember is that Rebels is still the Ghost crew's story. Anything that comes from The Clone Wars will have to serve in telling their story.

Obviously, but plenty of guest stars and cameos dominate their respective television episode or movie even if they're just crossover actors and not part of the regular cast. Besides, Ashoka was brought on board to serve the Rebels storyline and narrative otherwise she wouldn't be there.

Face it: if that spoiler does come to pass and it's as epic as most of us think it will be, Rebels or not I doubt many of us will care what Chopper or Ezra are doing in the background at that moment.

That character moment will still need to progress the story. Mind you that Ashoka is likely much more skilled in the Force arts than Kanan and Ezra could learn a few things from her. I would assume Vader would kill her at some point, though I now it will pain a lot of people when that happens (including Filloni). But she'll eventually be a dangling thread that needs to be addressed before Luke finds out about Vader's past. While it would be interesting to see Ashoka interact with Luke and perhaps train him a little before he needs to head to Yoda, I don't think we will get that moment. One it makes the universe smaller, two, Luke still knows too little about his father, and Ashoka knew "Skyguy" rather well.

There's a bigger story on top of that one, though. It'll be interesting to see how Kanan and the gang ultimately fit in there.

If the spoiler does happen, then I trust that the writers of Rebels will find a way to make it happen that is still connected to the overall story of the Ghost crew.

I'd be absolutely against Ahsoka meeting Luke because it would feel much like shoehorning something into the original trilogy just for the sake of it.. that i could see Lucas do but i hope Disney is wiser and won't tamper with the original trilogy (i'm still waiting on the untampered original movies on Blu Ray Disney!)

I'm going to Star Wars Weekends at Disney World this weekend. Don't know how much TFA promotion there will be. I really hope they have a BB-8 rolling around and/or part of this year's photo op options.

If I see anything significant there TFA-wise I will post about it and, if possible, post pics. :techman:

I agree with the idea that Ahsoka meeting Luke and even instructing him in some sort of fashion sounds dumb and risks major and just downright silly continuity violations all for the sake of seeing Ahsoka and teenage Luke Skywalker together on a TV screen.

Let's not. Just let Luke hang out with his childhood friends on Tatooine, have some local misadventures with said friends and native thugs and bullies and remain blissfully unaware of anything regarding the Force and many things regarding the Jedi Knights until the events of Episode IV roll around.

I really don't think they should do much with Luke pre-Episode IV. There are a few stories that are decent. One has Luke wandering out alone as a child, he get caught in a sandstorm and meets a boy the same age as him who calls himself Ani.

In the old EU the reason that Uncle Owen is so bitter and grouchy about Obi-Wan is explained through a story wherein child Luke gets lost in the Jundland Wastes with his friend Windy and Obi-Wan has to rescue them both and return Luke to the Lars moisture farm, after which an angry Owen tells Ben that he doesn't want to see him anymore and to go away and stop interfering with their family.

I guess even Owen and Beru realized that the more often Obi-Wan dropped by for a visit the greater the chance that Luke and Ben would be identified by nearby Imperial forces or Luke would accidentally learn his father's true identity and history.

I don't want to see this either, but Luke obviously knows of Old Ben, so maybe he could interact with him without any continuity violations.

I can't speak for anything outside the movies, but it seemed like Luke knew of Ben Kenobi. But didn't actually know him. Though I guess that could be open to interpretation.

In the old EU they'd met when Luke was still a small child and he knew Obi-Wan as little more than the "crazy old wizard" that Uncle Owen described. You could have them interact and not violate any established continuity because it's obvious Luke knows who Ben is even if he's only rarely seen him while growing up.

Yeah, Luke recognizes Ben, so he'd laid eyes on him before, knowing it was him, and probably met him. (I wouldn't buy that it was only a picture of Ben that he'd seen.)

As to the Ashoka thing, I was meaing after A New Hope. That would be the trouble if she is left alive by then. Too many questions start happening.

It becomes potentally worse if she lives beyond Return of the Jedi, though she is older and more experianced, Luke is the Jedi Knight/Master.
