Reminds me of all the excitement when the first TPM trailer came out.
Strangely enough seeing Han and Chewie at the end of the trailer seems to grind the extremely fast pace of the trailer to a halt.
JJ hasn't let me down yet. If this fails it will be the only time he's made a dud, at least based on my experience. I know some people decided the movie would suck from the moment it was announced he was the director.
Into Darkness falls apart towards the end, but that's probably more to do with the script than anything else. It would have been better off if they hadn't tried to shove in more Trek references and just let it be its own thing. It looked great, the cast was perfect, the pacing was quick, but the story fell short. I'm not sure how much of an input JJ had into the script though.
According the props and costumes on display at Star Wars Celebration, those names are accurate.Supposedly the Empire never fell and reconstituted and became the First Order and became even more anti-Jedi.
And the Rebellion became the Resistance.
This is based mostly on rumors back when the ST was announced. I'm sure there is more information.
I don't hate it, I just wished it had been better. They could have cut the entire Kirk death subplot or at least build up to it better and it would have been perfect. The movie just didn't feel like it earned that scene so it seems like it comes out of nowhere.Into Darkness falls apart towards the end, but that's probably more to do with the script than anything else. Well, I loved Into Darkness from beginning to end. Thoroughly entertaining romp. I think Abrams understands how to press my buttons.![]()

What does Star Trek feel like? Shag I hope. His Star Trek films might not feel like Star Trek, but they were fun.
If nothing else, I'd expect his Star Wars film to be fun. We'll figure out how it fits into things afterwards. We always do.
