RED DWARF

Owned by the Jupiter Mining Corporation, the asteroid mining ship Red Dwarf was six miles long and three miles wide, had a crew that fluctuated between about 170 and about 1700, and was controlled by a holographic artificial intelligence nicknamed “Holly.” The ship performed its function by capturing asteroids for the crew to mine. She carried two different types of shuttlecraft: Starbugs, built for long-range transport, and Blue Midgets for short hops.

The ship last reported a major reactor accident and was tracked heading out into deep space. She hasn’t been heard from since.

RED DWARF

...is the hilarious situation comedy created by Rob Grant and Doug Naylor for the BBC. The series tells the story of Dave Lister, last survivor of the crew of Red Dwarf, stranded on the ship after being stuck in cryosleep for 3 million years. His only constant companions are the ship’s computer Holly, a hologram of dead bunkmate Arnold Rimmer and a humanoid lifeform that evolved from his cat, while other acquaintances and crew members appear over the course of the series.

Red Dwarf fluctuated between the original spec, the nanobot rebuild and the inexplicably back to the original build.

At least 2000 floors high, whichever configuration you like.

In Fathers & Sons (Series X), Lister re-enters the ship through that front section and comes down some stairs marked "ramscoop".

I'd always assumed it was where the mined material was collected.

Original :techman: (preferring the original model over the one built for series 5)

Remastered pencil (not helped by them only being able to use a CG version of it because the physical model was to long to film properly)

Back to Earth's cross between remastered and original via a crap CG model:thumbdown:

Series X hacked up Remastered physical model

If you enjoy the completely ridiculous, you'll enjoy this show.

A lot of people think some seasons are a lot better than others, and that's true.

For me S1-S6 are the best, with S4 right at the top.
