Novels you'd like to see reprinted

Since the 50th anniversary, there's been a few reprint lines of the older Doctor Who novels that were released by Target(mainly episode adaptations) Virgin (The New Adventures and Missing Adventures) and the BBC itself, alongside the newer 2005-present novels based on the TV show.

Apart from the Target stuff (Although Rememberance of the Daleks was included in the 50th set to represent the Seventh Doctor), the novel reprints have been released in themed assortments-the 50th anniversary collection (which featured the eleven doctors in well, eleven novels), the Monster collection (With each novel featuring a different monster), and this year the History Collection, which features the Doctor in various eras in earth's history-including the original novel version of Human Nature which was adapted into a Tennant story.

This has been somewhat helpful as many of the novels from the 90s in particular are out of print, or even have no digital versions either (Although I think some of the rarer novels were released by the BBC a few years ago on their Doctor Who website). Sure, there are used copies but they often go for VERY high prices on Ebay and Amazon.

So what novels that have been not reprinted so far do you want to see released? Cold Fusion would be interesting IMO, it's one of the rarer novels and is the first non-TV Multi Doctor story as far as novels go (It features the Fifth and the Seventh).

I'd like to see reprints of some of the Eighth Doctor novels from the BBC. Especially if they started from the beginning. It seems like such an interesting story and it's hard to fill in all the gaps. Also, the Past Doctor Adventure with both Four and Eight would be a great one to reprint, Wolfsbane I think...

I love "Wolfsbane." It makes great use of the often underrated Harry Sullivan.

I don't know how I'd feel about reprinting the 8th Doctor novels from the very beginning. I tried one or two of the early books with Sam and I had a real hard time finishing them. However, I love the later stuff with Fitz & Anji or Fitz & Trix.

I'm glad that they've reprinted "The Roundheads" for the historical collection. I've been meaning to get it for a while but the used copies were hella expensive.

Another really expensive one that needs reprinting: "Loving the Alien." It's a sequel to "Illegal Alien," which was reprinted in last year's Monster Collection. I features some timey-wimey-ness and is a great example of the more manipulative side of the 7th Doctor's personality. Also, from its use of parallel dimensions & the Cybermen, it looks like it formed a vague inspiration for the new series 2-parter "Rise of the Cybermen"/"The Age of Steel."

And while I've found the Virgin New Adventures to be a mixed bag at best, I really liked the medieval story "Sanctuary."

Mike Tucker-the author of those seventh Doctor novels-actually has done FX work for both Doctor Who series, starting with "Trial of a Time Lord". His novels I think are partially based on concepts developed for season 27 that didn't make it because of the cancellation. He also co-wrote Ace! with Sophie Aldred, which is one of the best books IMO about the Sylvestor McCoy era.

IIRC, Mike Tucker did say that "Illegal Alien" was based on a script that they'd pitched for the TV series and that it was being considered for Season 27 had the show not been canceled. He also said that they originally pitched it for Season 26 but that the only reason why they didn't use it was because "The Curse of Fenric" already used a WWII setting.

It's mostly because they tend to be more serialized than any of the other novel lines and it's hard to find some of them for a decent price.

Honestly, I'd love to see a comprehensive ebook reprint series — the Targets, the NAs/MAs, and the EDAs/PDAs.

Lungbarrow and Dying Days...

I'm not sure how interested I am in "Lungbarrow." It sounds a bit too continuity-dense, even for me. But I have been interested in "Dying Days" for a while and that one is probably the most expensive one I've ever seen. (Currently $70 on Amazon.)
