The Flash - Season 1

Holy crap, just watched it. Some thoughts:

The thing at the beginning about the bowling alley being for sale? No doubt in my mind it's a reference to Tom Cavanagh's old show, Ed.

Maybe Zoom's vibro-fist will somehow give Cisco his Vibe powers.

Three days in the past now, Cisco is very much alive with an unvibrated heart.

Although if his new assignment is to build a cosmic treadmill for Barry now that they know what makes time travel possible, maybe investigating Wells goes on the back burner for a few days?

i forget...did Time Travelling Flash ran PAST First Flash? If so, could he have run so fast he got there first? And then take off running before the 2ns Flash got there? i'll have to rewind the scenes & see...

No, because they both witnessed the guy spinning the sign and the woman yelling at the taxi. As is generally the case in time-travel stories of this type, Barry has taken the place of his earlier self.

No, Berry told Wells that he saw the image of himself following him. Future Barry only erases himself after he tries to change the timeline.

There's no evidence that his memories were changed, the woman wanting a cab and the sign twirler were both there in his first go around. Future Barry's mind was blown be instantly treavelling from the beach to the city street.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that the only differences on the street scene are that he's in a different position than he was the first time and his other self didn't show up in the original position. I didn't rewatch the episode yet, though. But if that's it, then he's changing history by changing what he's doing in the timeline.

It's a different Barry.

He's from the future.

Barry from the present (3 days earlier) went somewhere else, or was eaten by time.

He never arrived in that intersection at 9:59.

I said that he had the wrong memories because this Barry had been alive three days longer than other Barry who is three days younger, which implies that they are different people and cannot doover a time line to leave it unchanged because the universe has a slightly different composition.

Before the "reset" was hit, I firmly expected Cisco to wake up with his Vibe powers after Thawne's attack. Vibe's powers, at least in current continuity, are derived from the speed force. He was even recruited by Waller for the specific purpose of taking down the Flash.

I liked Cisco's comment at the beginning, "I've been waiting for this since week 1."

Barry's bad double date has already happened. Linda will still have the convo with Iris, so Iris still confronts her feelings for Barry. Barry now knows that Iris returns his feelings.

Here is the tricky part: Barry knows that there is a file with the evidence about Wells, and that it will be released in Sunday's paper. He will want to know what the evidence is. He may destroy that evidence to prevent the story being published, since he will want to deal with this himself instead of the police being involved, this being a comic book tv show.

The reporter (I should know his name by now) doesn't have the same convo with Iris. Barry may have the convo with Cisco and Caitlin, but it will be different and Cisco won't investigate without Barry being involved. Cisco may not find out about the fake that Wells pulled, but Barry will have reason to not trust Wells. Cisco won't die, and Wells won't be totally revealed, but they will be careful about Wells.

Barry may not, then, confide to Wells about the time travel. Barry will stop Weather Wizard from hurting the Captain, and all the other nasty things.

Barry will likely break things off with Linda, but something will probably stop him form pursuing Iris right away so the writers can draw out some angst. Possibly Eddie gets hurt instead of Captain, and so Iris will be all "Oh! Eddie!" This would be evidence to Barry and to the audience that changing time will result in some good things and some bad things, hence it not being used as the regular obvious solution.

It seems that Barry can run fast enough to time travel now, and Wells can't. Barry should be faster than the current Wells, so that would put him on top of any current day fight.

I think you are right on both these accounts.

Possibly Barry may even question going back to save his mother later on in the season.

23 episode season.

8 episodes left.

I mean it's fricking amazing how much world building they've done in just 15 episodes.

But they're down to 6 if we take away next week, part two, and the Atom crossover, and if 22 + 23 are also a double episode, that really means that there are only 4 episodes unaccounted for, to deal with Wells and Grodd.

They've probably got room for 2 freak of the Week episodes, and that's if they don't try to shoehorn in a back door pilot for the Villains (not actual name) spinoff series.

Tuck, tick, tick.

I haven't watched any of the new superhero series that have come out the past few years. No Arrow, Gotham, Agents of Shield or Constantine. But I think i'll have to binge watch this especially since I liked the 90s series.

At least consider Arrow then, too. While both shows can be watched solo, they do share a universe and recurring characters with several crossover episodes already.
Plus Arrow is awesome in it's own right.
Barry himself is introduced in a 2 part episode of Arrow's second season.

For the record, though, you don't need to watch ARROW first. I skipped ARROW (I know, I know!), but had no trouble climbing aboard THE FLASH . . ..

Now that it has been confirmed that Wells is Eobard Thawne, I can see one of two things happening at some point...

1. Eddie becomes pivotal in stopping Eobard, as he is the one person Eobard can't risk killing.

2. Someone comes to the conclusion that the only way to stop Eobard is to kill Eddie, and therefore destroy Eobard's lineage.

Yes, even the two part crossover functions as intact individual episodes so you don't need to watch any of Arrow if you don't want to--although Arrow is pretty good.

He doesn't need to be killed really--only castrated.

The big question that wants to be asked is, if Professor Zoom is from the future and has gotten stuck in the present, why can't he just build a time machine?
