I would very much like to see more of Freddy. I think fast fwding to him tatted out and slightly puffier doesn't have to be the end of him.
We could have..
Freddy: The Vancouver Months
After his brief marriage and wine sodden stint in Barcelona, Freddy flees to Vancouver thinking there are hot cowboys. Yes he has mixed it up with Calgary but no mind, the coffee shops are better. He is scooped up early on by ruggedly handsome ex-military organic produce seller Vajay, played by Mike Dopud.
Mike Dopud and Freddy have a lot of hot sex in Mike Dopud's spartan but organic cotton fitted apartment overlooking the river, yes I am sure there is a river in Vancouver. However Vajay turns out to be less than Freddy friendly and after some tense scenes in which Mike Dopud's simmering inner aggressions make the viewer worry for Freddy, Freddy stuffs all his things into a duffel bag and flees.
In episode 3, after a montage of Freddy's conquests, we see a dispirited Freddy sitting at a bar turning a british subway token over in his hand, contemplating a return to his native lands. Salt does not fall out of it. A very lovely man appears and offers to buy him a drink and the next 5 episodes are all about how Freddy is the hot toy boy of a kind and sincere and somewhat uncool middle manager named Jonathan, played by David Hewlett. There are many tender sex scenes and also Freddy is a little bitch to David Hewlett and makes him have sex in alleys and with leather dudes to try and dislodge David Hewlett from his nice middle classness and David Hewlett has sex any way Freddy wants to because David Hewlett is IN LOVE with Freddy and also thinks Freddy is the most beautiful thing he has ever seen.
By episode 8 Freddy has run out of things to make David Hewlett do and realizes he cannot push him away no matter how many bears and rooftops and public places he makes David Hewlett have sex in and with. He just can't get rid of him, David Hewlett is that devoted and also much to Freddy's annoyance starting to enjoy being Freddy's stress ball a little too much. So Freddy stuffs all his things into a duffel bag and flees.
Series ends with Freddy strolling up to listen to the woman singing on the street that reunited him with Henry.
