So how can you be so wrong about STID? (Don't answer. Just a jab.)

I'm going to put up a "My Gripes with TWOK!" thread just for you, Franklin. :D

(FWIW, on my full ranking of the franchise I have the NuTrek films tied with TSFS and GEN, so I'm not quite as down on them as it may seem. Or maybe I'm totally outrageously down on them depending on your mileage. :p At any rate they're far from the worst.)

"My Gripes with TWOK!" That's the spirit!

Meh. We'll call a cease fire, call up TVH on Netflix, open a few cans of something cold or break the label on something best to drink over ice, and have a good time. But when the cease fire is over, don't turn your back.

Edited to add: I had to run my hands over the keyboard a few times, myself to catch it. Keyboard. How quaint!

I would also argue that TVH has some lovely character bits in it, a nice message about saving the whales, and some pleasing moments with Sarek and Amanda. What's not to like?

At the moment I think it's the "bookends" that I most enjoy, particularly Spock's arc, ending with that nice "Tell her I feel fine" moment. I am also intrigued by the philosophical proposition that "Nothing unreal exists"!

I think it goes with Spinoza's postulate: "Everything that is, is either in itself or in something else."

I've always loved that one.
