Try as I may, I can't place this episode in "Pegasus" though.

No one can, because it doesn't fit. They did such a ridiculously sloppy job with it, that they couldn't even get Troi's hairdo and uniform color right.

That was one of the issues I had with TATV (among many, many others). I just kept looking at her and thinking, they got the hair wrong. There were a ton of issues that made the suspension of disbelief come crashing down, and that was one in a long line. I get that the actress was older, but it was a f'ing wig, yes?

So use the same damned wig.

TATV bugs me because I think it actually could have had a decent story to tell. Unfortunately, the ENT parts of the story feel rushed because the episode has to make time for the TNG stuff.

Even that pretty much writes DS9 and Voyager out of the franchise. So we're clear, TATV ranks the franchise by it's own priority, which is TNG >> TOS >> ENT >> DS9 and VOY.

Which is, y'know, the episode's right and all that. But it's pretty weird as an episode intended as (a.) a finalé to the entire franchise, and (b.) an episode that is actually part of ENT.

It's not ranking anything. The show is called "Enterprise." The final scene is about the evolution of that name.

Well, it doesn't *really* tarnish* it, I know. Also, has anyone ever attempted a fan-mix of the two episodes? I think such an endeavour would reveal how incongruous the events portrayed were.

Try as I may, I can't place this episode in "Pegasus" though. Riker wasn't this indecisive about what to do and mostly played by ear when he decided to let the cat out of the bag. I can't see him spending much time in the holodeck during those events as well.

It totally does not fit, not only in the episode but with Riker's character. When did her ever, ever retreat to the Holodeck for advice on making a big decision? Pegasus was a fast-paced episode, if I recall, so this weird retelling completely jams up the timing of events.

Surely you mean concurrently on Pegasus?

This story was originally supposed to be the season 3 finale.

If Berman had decided to spend this idea earlier like he wanted to, doesn't that mean that the now unused the crunch from Zero hour, attacked by Nazi controlled 1946, would be free for their swan song?
