I want more Weta or maybe Bigchief Studios can bring us more busts of Time Lord outfits! I would love to see the Time war costumes, and the trooper outfits from the last day minisode, and Citadel Chancellery Guards. In addition to the Deadly assassin versions.

The guy to the left mirrored my reaction to discovering (yes old news) the Baroussa Bust from Weta Workshop! LMAO!

What say you? What would you like to see?

I'd like for Character Options to release a four-pack of 5" figures of the Doctor, Susan, Ian and Barbara as they appeared in "An Unearthly Child." :)

that sounds pretty sweet!! I want to see a Big Chief Studios two Pack Figure set, one Hero (the Doctor) and One Villain, (Omega, the 1st Master, or Davros!!) my best choice a 10th doctor with blue suit, red shoes, and a Journey's end Davros!

that would be sweet! also, if we are talking about replicas I would love a replica model of the citadel of the Time Lords, or a replica of The necklace that Lord President Rassilon the resurrected wore from the end of Time.

I'm just waiting for Foxes' cover of "Don't Stop Me Now" from "Mummy on the Orient Express" to be available on iTunes.

With those recent 5-inch figures that they've been coming out with over the last 10 years since the new series came back, have they done all of the classic companions? I've seen Jo, Leela, Peri, Ace, & the Brigadier, but I'm not sure if I've seen anyone else.

It's something of a mixed bag. Character Options has yet to release any companions from the Hartnell and Troughton years.

Pertwee's era finally has two versions of Jo Grant and three of the Brigadier. But there's no Liz Shaw, nor a "classic era" (read: young) Sarah Jane Smith. Of course, she's argueably more associated with Tom Baker, but the point is, a young version of her has not been released. (On the other hand, five different "contemporary" version of Liz Sladen's beloved character were made, one as she was dressed in DW's "School Reunion" and four variants from her own series "The Sarah Jane Adventures". But fans still want a 70s version of Sarah.)

Representing Tom Baker's reign, yes, we got three editions of Leela, but there's no Romana yet, neither Mary Tamm nor Lalla Ward's features.

Bridging the Baker and Davision years, there's no Adric, Nyssa or Teegan figures. Turough doesn't exist either.

Bridging Davison's and Colin's series, we have gotten Peri in three outfits. (Why the variants? Beyond thrilling fan collectors, it actually helps to defer the cost of development. Yes, some new pieces have to be made, but other parts, particularly the faces can be reused.)

Bridging the Colin and McCoy series, Mel has yet to be made. (I can imagine the jokes, gang. Let's sidestep those for the moment.) Still, closing out the classic era, we have gotten two editions of Ace.

Supposedly, prototypes of Jamie (the young Scotsman from Troughton's era) and Teegan have been approved by the actors who played them, but it's as yet unknown if the molds have been created (the most expensive part of the manufactoring stages), much cast in their final plastic forms.

I think that about covers it.

Sincerely,

Bill

With the exception of Missy and Eric Roberts "Bruce" Master, all the Masters have been covered (and even some of his TARDIS disguises), however it'd be nice to have if they had Ainley in his more traditional outfit instead of just the suit and tie look.

Actually, that was one of the possible figures Al Dewar mentioned in a "Tweet" several months ago. Alas, not much has been mentioned since then, but Dewar finted at a "poll" (which Character Options has yet to officially promote) about the next few potential "classic era" figures. At the time, Dewar hinted all on the list were planned, but this would determine which would be made first. Among those were Jamie, Teegan, the Ainley Master in his "penguin suit", a "proper" Silurian (third eye, fish fin ears, anteater lips) and maybe another I can't remember.

Alas follow-up information about that plan petered out.

Oh for those wondering, Al Dewar has been the person in charge of the Doctor Who license as it pertains to Character Options for nearly a decade. He was the one to finally persuade CO to create and sell "classic era" figures.

Sincerely,

Bill

There's been about a bazillion releases of the Doctor's TARDIS (some differ more than others because there are some major differences between several of the police box props) of course, as well as some of the disguises of the Master's TARDISes such as the Melkur.

There was a short-lived line of small Doctor Who vehicles such as the Slitheen's decoy ship and Jack's ship.

The Dalek saucer I think has also been done as a character building set.

Problem with a lot of the classic series ships, although there are some cool designs here and there such as the Jagaroth ship from City of Death, is that a lot of them are sort of generic-looking saucers and rockets. Granted, the new series still uses the Dalek saucer too.

I'd like to have a model of the default TARDIS cylinder with sliding door, sound effects, and the Hartnell console insert with lights that oscillate as if the ship is glowing from the rotor.. :techman:

BTW, I love my new avatar so much, I gave it a Name! I dub thee... DEATH LORD!!

Here you go, the source..

I have this as my Laptop Desktop, my Galaxy S5 wallpaper, and now this avatar! I love the time lords..what an amazing scifi race..

If Big Chief studios releases a figure of the Castellan from the Five Doctors, with all that regalia, and such, I would totally buy one to convert to the Death Lord, or as I sometimes call it.. the Couldhavebeen King. LOL.. but that's just me. change his head, and paint his outfit, and Man, that would be a Time Lord Fav of mine.. better then a Skeletor.. :-D

Looks like we'll finally have some lego sets to mess around with soon!!

It's so funny how we can pick up DW merch almost anywhere these days. The global phenomenon that is now Doctor Who had been incredible to see. I see kids and adults (myself included) walking around in TARDIS hats, wearing bow ties and playing with all manner of toys.

This makes me think back to my early days of fandom back in the mid 80's. DW product was hard to come by and more often than not, had to be mail ordered from the UK or paid a high price for at hucksters' tables at fan cons.

I love that we now have so many options. It's like all of us who were fans back in the day have finally been able to share our little secret.

I remember being ecstatic just to have a Doctor Who button to pin on my backpack. Now I could do an entire master suite, bath included, in Doctor Who decor & merchandise (if I had the money, I probably WOULD). For Halloween, I wore a Tardis T-shirt, Tardis Hat, Tardis scarf and Tardis gloves.

Some part of my brain still does a little inner *squee* whenever I see more Doctor Who merchandise.

But could you do a MASTER suite? ;)

I've been collecting a bunch of the 3-inch vinyl figurines from Titan. I wish they did more companions. They've yet to do Martha, Donna, Sarah Jane, or any of the companions from the classic series.

I want a high quality detailed console and platform of the Hartnell, 3rd doctor's set from death to the daleks, and the three doctors, and the modern version. 1/6th scale with lights and sounds. Oh and also, my top wish list item.. a Paul McGann Doctor version from the day of the doctor short.. I'm not fond of his 1996 outfit.. tho I am sure some fans would want that. I rather liked his time war era look..

The Day of the Doctor John Hurt figure does have an optional Paul Mcgann head, but Hurt's body and outfit doesn't match Mcgann's in Night of the Doctor.

I didn't know that, but yes, I would prefer the night of the Doctor version..with a young john hurt war doctor head to swap out instead.

I for one, would like to see a line of 1/6 scale TARDIS Console model kits. Transparent parts for lighting and a simple mechanism (wind-mechanical or motorized) to move the Rotor.
If not every Doctor, at least some of the classics like Tom Bakers. I had a chance to play with the actual set piece when it was on exhibit in London and I have always wanted a replica.

Model Kits, I like that idea! Actually how about them doing a build your own console room set.. But it actually isn't a room.. just the console and a platform just beneath the console.. I WOULD love to do a RANI TARDIS, and a Classic Hartnell one.. I think tho if something like that was done, the center piece should come as a single battery powered machine.. the Time Column that is.. and the sounds and such should be built into it.. a flat LED panel that sits below each console piece, which when simply plugged into the main center rotor also takes the battery and lights up the panels to go with it..

I can see some fans getting good at customizing their own TARDIS consoles.. they could also make the center rotor sound recordings digitally modifiable, so that one could download their own sound effects from the net and upload to the console via a mini USB like for the cell phones. Now that would be fantastic! I can see it now.. a wooden walnut grain panel with clear inserts being sold on after market sites like ETSY, and someone doing their own console conversion to look like the Star Trek Next Gen style! that would be awesome.. I can also see custom TARDIS console contests! BBC is sitting on a merchandise goldmine akin to Gundams, and they haven't hit on that yet? come on!! it's a no brainer!!

Yep Richard, I am with you there buddy!! Bring us Kits to make our own Consoles!! Prepainted, or blank gray for customization.. or just release the originals first.. then how about a couple of box sets that allow you to Build your own model!!

Yeah, I'd also like to see a proper 8th Doc figure from "Night of the Doctor." The swappable head on the War Doctor figure doesn't make any sense since Eight never wore that costume.
