So Ian lost his first baby tooth yesterday. However he doesn't know where or how. Leading up to this he never complained about the tooth being loose or bothering him. So we were shocked when we noticed it missing. He was upset that he had no tooth to put under his pillow. So we told him we would email the tooth fairy and explain the situation.

Ian's school had a career day yesterday, the school invited the parents to come and explain what they do and give examples. My wife volunteered, being an doctor. She brought with her a laparoscopic simulator, allowing the kids to see what it's like to do this kind of surgery. Here is Ian working with the simulator.

Medical technology can be creepy to a lot of adults but for kids it's frequently a wonderland of something fascinating and strange. That's one thing I miss about being a kid: being amazed by something through the curious eyes of a child.

The family waylaid the mall tonight, we had an Genius Bar appointment at the Apple store. I came this close to buying the 27" Retina iMac 5K. We had Breakfast for Dinner at iHop. Did a little shopping around the mall, including hitting our favorite the Disney store. However me and the boys took a little detour to Dave & Busters while the wife and daughter went to some other stores. Low and behold, they had the Star Wars Battle Pod. The line was a little long, they only had one. So we went and played a few other games but always staying in eyeshot of the Battle Pod. Once the line thinned enough, I rushed over and got in almost right away. The thing is AWESOME! better then awesome, what ever is better then awesome. Got to play all the classics, Battle at Yavin, Hoth and Endor. However the best one was Darth Vaders Revenge. This game takes place right after the destruction of the first Death Star and you play as Darth Vader in his Advance Tie Fighter. After coming out of your spin, you take on the entire rebel alliance by yourself. It was great hunting down X-Wings and going up against the Millennium Falcon.

A housecat could find a way to turn a steel beam upside down if they wanted to lay on top of it and it didn't quite feel right.

It's time for another installment of...

DOUCHEY GYM SELFIE!

Also, I got bored and trimmed my beard into...this...

Very emotional night for us, we'll for me at least. We transitioned Kira from the crib to a toddler bed. For over 6 years, every day since Ian first came home from the hospital one of the kids has occupied the crib. Now trying to figure out what to do with the crib. Maybe we can find a homeless shelter for women.

That's actually a good idea. I'd contact any of your local charity agencies and see if they have a need for a used baby crib because those organizations frequently use them for one purpose or another. Good luck. I hope somebody else can find a use for it.

Donating the crib is a great idea. That's what we did when our youngest outgrew it. It does tug at the heartstrings, doesn't it?

When I found out that the touchscreen controls in my car had a wallpaper option that can be displayed at all times...as a Trek fan, I knew what I had to do.
