Did the application of your Caps Lock key help you feel like you got your point across better, or did you just do that for the heck of it?You can watch TNG, or you can go to the cinema and watch TUC. You CAN'T DO BOTH!The TOS movies were successful right up to TVH, after which the advent of TNG split the audience.
But will there be more movies after the third one? And if so, will we get yet another reboot? Just look at Batman, Hulk and Spiderman. Hollywood likes 're-imagining' the same thing over and over.
Personally I'd like a new TV-series in the prime universe with better production values. If that means fewer episodes per season, so be it. Quality over quantity.
If they decided not to go back to the Prime Universe for another series, then I'd want a full an proper reboot of the franchise--none of this alternate timeline crap. I'd be happier with that.
Keep the core concept (telling important, relevant stories whilst boldly going) and names but alter/augment/change just about everything else. Have the focus be on the people and their development, give it substance not just explosions and boobs.
Movies, please.
There's already more stuff on TV than I can watch in a week. I'd have to be home 24/7 in front of the TV to see everything that interests me, but unfortunately I have to visit the outside world 40-50 hours a week.
Adding a Trek series to the mix just wouldn't work for me.
Besides that, I don't think Les Moonves has changed his mind about new Trek on TV.
