To Be Takei- A micro review

I just saw this tonight for the first time on Netflix.

If you haven't seen it, George discusses:

• His youth in an internment camp
• Growing up
• Getting into Hollywood
• Staying closeted due to wanting to retain work in show business
• Coming out
• Internet fame
• His new musical, "Allegiance"
• Bill Shatner in general
• His marriage

And of course, Star Trek: Movies, fellow cast and TOS. Interviewed are Bill, Nichelle, Walter and Leonard. Didn't see anything from James.

I'd give it 4 stars. The most moving was his talks about the internment camps.

One thing I didn't like was all the Howard Stern footage. I can't stand that guy.

Otherwise it was a great documentary. Definitely worth your time.

I enjoyed it. The only time I wasn't really engaged was when he was talking about Bill (Shatner). I'm tired of that feud, real or imagined, and would rather George focus on the great things he's doing, and on the man he loves (they're adorable together).

Ye gods, though, do they bicker like an old married couple (which they are now, yay!). I thought it was funny that Brad is the fastidious, schedule keeper, while George is more laid back. That surprised me, because I thought it was the other way around.

I felt the same way after watching it. Takei came across as petty throughout the entire thing, and not just because of the Shatner "feud."
