Noticing Coulson-616 as depicted in SHIELD is emotionally 180º from his behaviour in Secret Avengers. Not quite sure what's going on yet here.

Also, I thought Battle Scars introduced this version of Coulson as being completely new to SHIELD...?

I don't follow Secret Avengers, so I don't know about behavior issues, but I noticed the same thing regarding changes in Coulson's origins from Battlescars.

On the plus side, it was an entertaining little tale. Basically "Agents of SHIELD Team-Up", it was a done-in-one story that still planted seeds for future stories.

Mark Waid got the voices of the characters down very well, as I could "hear" the various actors delivering their characters lines.

Team books and X-Men characters in particular. He did an interview before taking over "Ultimate X-Men" where he admitted that his strengths didn't exactly excel in these areas and IMO it's shown. I'm glad others are enjoying them but they've just done nothing for me.

Still waiting for Reed to pay for his actions in Civil War and Planet Hulk and god knows what else.

A lot of the times he just doesn't understand most of the characters or the universe he is writing about.

This thread has an email of comments made by his editor about one of the early drafts of Secret Invasion #1.

Avengers #40... damn. That was pretty huge. This being comics, no-one stays dead, but man that was an awesome death scene. I hope it sticks for as long as possible.

Holy Crap. I can't believe Bendis was that ignorant of the characters he was writing in Secret Invasion #1!

Is that not where Namor's heart is?

The Cabal is going to rescue him because as far as they are concerned, he noticed some one was trying to screw them all over and the Submariner "saved" them.

If he survives this I can only see him coming out of it as a full on super villain.

He's a King, murdered by the King of a nation he already ground into dust.

There's not much he c... Why did Blackbolt side with T'Challa?

Is Namor at all responsible for how Fucked up the Inhumans are?

Hmmm... Oh, Blackbolt was there to make sure Thanos (or his brother Maximus?) got got.

Hmmmm. Haven't read Avengers 40 yet. Some spoiler codes would have been nice.

Anyway, I'm regreting not buying into "Spider-Verse", as it just seems like too much fun. Definite trade purchase. When it was first announced, I mentioned that I wanted to see Spider-Men that looked like Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, but for some legal reasons Marvel said that they weren't able to do that. However, it seems that Marvel found a way to include them (as well as "Electric Company" Spidey and "Turn Off The Light" Spidey) even if they couldn't actually show them.:techman: And Spider-Punk is just too fucking cool.

So then, if the Japanese TV Spider-Man is there, then where is 70s TV Spidey? I went on a "Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends" marathon after I read that Slott killed that Spider-Man. :(

    Sorry.

1967 cartoon Spider-Man, Miles Morales and 2000 and now animated Ultimate Spider-Man had a team up to save the day last month.

Miles pissed himself laughing trying to find the threat from the 1967 cartoon Spider-Man's Rogues Gallery.

Star Wars #1 was actually much better than I expected. It actually lived up to the hype. Gorgeous art, the characters look just like the actors, it was big and cinematic and thrilling. It was very streamlined and continuity-light but that was quite a cliffhanger to end on. And the dialogue really, really felt like movie-Star Wars.

Not sure what's hit print as opposed to digital but Marvel sure didn't waste any time re-issuing a ton of former Dark Horse Star Wars material.

So does anyone have a theory on who saves the day with the whole Avengers multiversal collapse? I'm thinking Dr Doom. He's basically been in the background of the entire series working on something, and we know how much Hickman loves Doom. I think it would be cool if Doom was responsible for saving the multiverse.

That would be a good guess to counter Reed who is going to most likely be the star of "Secret Wars" along with Ulimtate Reed since he is Hickman's favourite character. I would think that Val would be a dark horse pick as well given Hickman's love for her character as well (and been building her into something of a strategist like her father and Uncle).

It's hard to say at this point, as I don't really see anything being "saved" at this point, especially since "Secret Wars" is going to be a year long story.

The ultimate story to trade wait. No way am I shelling out the monthly per book rate when they'll collect the whole thing 3months upon conclusion. I then hit InStockTrades.com, get it for 50% off and the per issue price is half the newsstand, plus it's oversized. Bonus points if the story turns out good and not a let down like Fear Itself or Age of Ultron.
