Happy Festivus!

Wikipedia's definition of Festivus

Festivus, a well-celebrated parody, has become a secular holiday celebrated on December 23 that serves as an alternative to participating in the pressures and commercialism of the Christmas season.[1] Originally a family tradition of scriptwriter Dan O'Keefe, who worked on the American sitcom Seinfeld, the holiday entered popular culture after it was made the focus of a 1997 episode of the program.[1][2] The holiday's celebration, as it was shown on Seinfeld, includes a Festivus dinner, an unadorned aluminum Festivus pole, practices such as the "Airing of Grievances" and "Feats of Strength", and the labeling of easily explainable events as "Festivus miracles".

I don't celebrate it myself. Instead I celebrate the 10 Days of Newton (25 Dec-4 Jan).

Oh, it's a Seinfeld thing? That explains my confusion, since I've never seen that show. (Yes, it's possible. )

I have only seen one or two episodes of Seinfield but I knew about Festivus because of the efforts of people to get Festivus poles into public holiday displays. There was a hoo-ha last year when one group was allowed to to display a pole made out of beer cans.

Edited to put in a link to YouTube link about the Festivus Pole controversy

I hope you're yelling while you air this grievance.

It doesn't have the Festivus Spirit if you don't yell.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO ADD SOME CAPSLOCK
