What if ... The Apprentice turns out to be the real Sorcerer? It's like, when John Locke wasn't really John Locke but the Smoke Monster?
^^^ Exactly what I was thinking.
A friend of mine has theorized that the Apprentice is the Sorcerer and that he is an aged Henry from the future-- and the author of the book.
I like that idea- it fits well.
Especially since this show insists that everyone you encounter has to be some sort of family member...
I don't know. I thought the point was that Henry wasn't a fairytale character and during the first season wished that everyone around him was.
Also that would make the whole story about him being special because he has The Heart of the Truest Believer kind of moot.
I do like the idea of the Apprentice being the Sorcerer, but I don't know if I like the thought of him being Henry.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one thinking the Sorcerer is the author.
I really enjoyed this one.
Every time you start to think maybe Rumple isn't so bad any more, he goes and does something like what he did in the episode. I'm wondering what exactly he plans to do with all of the magical power he's trying to collect?
I really enjoyed the flashbacks in this one.
^^ Well, since it is Disney, I think that the author will turn out to be some kind of metaphor for Walt, whether it's Henry or not.
I don't know if these things are mutually exclusive. Writers write books to inspire.
I'm reminded of a former poster here, who absolutely insisted that Dumbledore was a grown up Ron Weasley from the future, who had used the time-turner to go back in time. When book 7 came out, and Dumbledore clearly was not Ron, she had a meltdown. I don't think she's been back to the board since.

I always got a kick out of those going back in time with Time Turner Theories. There was a big one about Harry going back in time to protect himself in the crib, too. Can you imagine how tired your arms would get, turning it for every hour, let alone keeping an accurate count? There's 8,760 hours per year (plus you'd have to keep track of leap years)
Am I the only one completely bored by Ingrid as a villain? I love Elsa and Anna, and everything surrounding Gold's plan in this episode was great, from his scheming to the way he told the truth to get Emma to jump in the hat, to the scene Elsa had with Emma, to the confrontation with Hook (damn Killian, just... damn 
). But Ingrid just leaves me completely unmoved and I've been tired of her for awhile now. Can we trap her in the hat and move on please? I've already made my thoughts on Regina/Robin know, so won't belabor it.
Elsa should stick around though. Anna too. I'm liking the theory that the Apprentice is actually the Sorcerer now (I thought of that one) and the author of the Book (totally didn't think of that one).

^^ I'm not bored with her, although I'm also not as impressed with her decolletage as other are; I'm actually more bored with Rumpy's backsliding.
Yikes. That's a little too much investment in a theory.
One would think it would be fairly easy to come up with an app for that.
On the plus side, Ingrid makes a good villain due to her calm, methodical approach. Considering the time she had to spend waiting for that 'perfect' third sister her having a long range view of things is not surprising. I do like her jousting with Rumple- they are equal in many ways, respect the others power and are constantly trying to out maneuver each other.
On the negative this Frozen arc is taking far too long to work through. It seems to exist just to give Emma something to do. Everyone having cell phones makes most modern stories difficult to tell since characters are able to communicate instantly but I am getting tired of the 'ignoring urgent messages' trope. It should be obvious by now a lot of stuff keeps happening and letting people know impending danger can save the day so why does everyone refuse to answer or leave the stupid phone behind?

^^^ That seems to be an extension of the "let's not tell anyone about my critical plot-changing secret that everyone should know about" trap that this show has fallen into (Belle's revelation about Anna being a recent example) and is the same tired old plot-extending artifice that LOST employed regularly to drag it on 2 seasons too long. I really like this show, but they do seem to be resorting to filler and fake drama to prolong the plot beyond its natural lifespan. It would appear that the LOST DNA that has been lying generally dormant is starting to mutate and metastasize.
