Once Upon A Time Season 4

Does it really matter what they are called?- for me two singles or one double length works out to be the same.

Thank you for asking this question, Richard. I would just like to put my own spin on it.

Ahem:

WHO! GIVES A FUUUUUUUUUUUCK?!

It's two hours of OUAT! Period! Done! If you wanna watch it, you gotta watch two hours! If you wanna record it, you gotta record two hours! Period! Done! What kind of no-life having psychopaths sit there and agonize about the way the two hours are numbered???

It doesn't matter how they're numbered! It doesn't mean a damn thing how they're listed in the episode guide, TV guide, Tobin's Spirit Guide or any other guide! Just cowboy up and watch or record the two damn hours!

OMFG!

(Breathe out...) Okay, got that off my chest...

It matters because whether or not it's listed as two episodes or one affects how the overall season episode count is accurately determined.

^^^Which is only important if one gives two shits about having an accurate episode count, which I don't. An inaccurate episode count will not affect my life in any way, shape, or form, and I can't see getting so exercised over it. I just watch the shows as they air.

Normally I would agree that it's a pedantic level of minutia that almost nobody would care about, but such scheduling oddities do tend to cause problems for someone wanting to do a DVR recording. Schedule changes like that may cause some devices to miss a whole hour by accident.

Aside from that, yes, truly who bloody cares?

Maybe, but you can have similar problems even if you know exactly how many episodes there should be and when they air. I have co-workers who complain about such things all the time, and not once has the complaint included the lament "If only those evil network people had numbered the episodes accurately!!!"

Wouldn't it just be easier to program your DVR with the station and hours of the show, since everybody knows that information and it's the one thing not in dispute?

Normally it does work, as the hours should be a part of the program's parameters. However, I have seen discrepancies that can only be explained as typos on title and other programming info. When irregularities like this arise, it sometimes causes unforeseen issues where most viewers assume it will just automagically work...until it doesn't.

For the record, my interest in this has nothing to do with DVRs or anything else, and purely with things being accurately reflected on that OUaT wiki vis a vis how the season is going to ultimately be seen in terms of its episode count.

Sure it's not a life threatening kind of thing, but when people are putting together episode guides it is a good idea to make sure you have all of the episode numbers and things like that right.

Can we move on ALREADY from the what the two hour episodes should be labeled as?

People have talked more about that than last week's episode! :p

Ah...I see...Pedantic minutia it is, then...

Loved tonight's ep.

Mr. Gold is still a "bad" man and I wish Belle had been in the shop when Killian was confessing to Emma's answering machine. :p

Regina IS a hero. I love how she and I commented about her owing "someone" a quarter after Robin found another page XXIII for the storybook. :bolian:

I guess we can assume the author of our story book is the sorcerer with a missing hat. :vulcan:

I think I love those Snow / Regina chats as much as I love the Emma / Regina chats. :adore:

Is Arendelle still quick frozen? If so, will Elsa find that magic door and go through it to save her sister and her kingdom?

Poor Killian. :sigh:

Sometimes I think if that man didn't have bad luck, he'd have no luck at all. :brickwall:

So, it looked like Anna is kinda dead... :wtf:... have they shown anyone surviving being frozen before?

I liked that in the past and the present both times Elsa blindly trusted her sibling even though it could have resulted in her death.

So now we know more about what happened back in Arendelle--how Elsa wound up inside the urn, what happened to Anna, how Ingrid crossed realms to try to find the third "magic sister." I really like Elizabeth Mitchell's character. Ingrid is so devious and sinister in a nice non-threatening way that makes her so easy to trust. :)

^^

Her dress doesn't hurt things, either! ;)

But yeah I'm really enjoying this season's storyline, and I was pretty lukewarm on Frozen (get it?).

Spoilers for the movie "Frozen" for those who have lived in an ice cave for the past 2 years...

...

Yes, in the movie Frozen, she was turned into an Anna-sicle but was thawed by an act of true love for her sister. Granted, it was a much shorter time than this, but the precedent has been set and I suspect they'll follow the same rules established in the original movie.

BADUMPBUMP!Tsss!

Ingrid RULES! She has Elsa! She has Emma! She's got Gold by the short hairs! She's about to unleash an almighty can of whoop-ass on Storybrooke! And yesss...those dresses!

And, apparently she's the Mysthaven version of a baby boomer, "born" into reality as she was in the eighties...

All right, now could somebody get Elizabeth Mitchell her own show already, just one not as ultimately lame as "V"?

For the trekkies among us, let's just say that Anna and Arendelle have been stuck in extended cryosleep all this time...

This is entirely tangential, but I was proven correct when it comes to StM being two episodes shot/aired as one. Not only did it feature two separate "title card" sequences and have two different directors attached to it, ABC Com recaps it in two separate recaps.
