That was an awesome episode! Romana AND Leela AND K9 Mark One all in one scene!!!
Who'd have we'd ever see them again. Leela's exasperation at the Doctor's altered appearence is especially hilarious (though I think it might have pissed off some BF people).

Romana's line was the best: "Why can't we ever meet and you be attractive for once?" and the Doctor going "Actually, I JUST was. You're too late, Fred!"

Bah! What a horrid piece of shit. Moffat must really be phoning it in now during his victory lap. And did he even watch any of Tom Baker's era? He totally writes Leela and Romana wrong. And really, another joke about "the round things" in the console room? Seriously, that's getting worn.

And once again the continuity makes no sense. If every single roundel in the Doctor's Tardis is a recovered Eye of Harmony from another Tardis... then how does the Tardis ever run out of energy???

I did think it was cool that it turned out the "Listen" hiding alien was Omega though.

^^I would have preferred they had revealed that in Listen, or at least at some point prior to this episode. This episode was just continuity porn when it came to all the Time Lords (or at least Gallifreyans) showing up. Leela, Romana, Omega, Rassilon, Maxil, Andred, Drax, even the Meddling Monk. Alright Moffat, we get it, you can read the Doctor Who Character Encyclopedia. Kindly focus on telling a story rather than trying to give fanboys boners with all the continuity references.

And before anyone starts, yes, I realize that Leela isn't Gallifreyan, but she was last seen on Gallifrey. And technically Maxil was actually reintroduced in this incarnation in Day of the Doctor, but he wasn't named there. It was this episode that established the General is in fact a regenerated Maxil. Man I sure hope they have plans for a webisode showing Maxil's regeneration. Colin Baker deserves a proper regeneration scene!

I didn't even know who Maxil was, and while I've heard of the Monk I've never seen him in an episode. So that stuff was kinda flying over my head.

And that's the problem. Moffat's target audience of the "not we" causal fans wouldn't even get who half these characters are, and there was no real introductions for them. This was pure unadulterated continuity porn on a scale we haven't seen since the days of John Hurt's era.

^ I wonder if the Beeb would be okay with that while their Atlantis show is running?
It'd be awesome if the Doctor popped into different shows. Imagine the Doctor popped in on Merlin, runs from a dinosaur in Primeval, shows up in Atlantis, has a romp in Downton Abbey lol. I don't know what shows are the Beeb and what aren't but maybe they could do that for a holiday special or something.
They already are doing that. The actress who played Harriet Jones, Prime Minister (she says it like all of it's part of her name!) plays Mrs. Crawley in Downton Abbey. The fanfic writers who do crossovers are having a field day.

Yeah, I'm not sure what were they thinking when they established

SPOILERS

Osgood as Maxil's first incarnation who didn't know she/he was a Time Lord. If that really is the case, and not some trickery by Mistress, why didn't Maxil prevent the Time War back then? I sense Moffat will explore this in the future (as he always sees things way ahead of time). Also, I wonder if Moffat talked to Colin Baker for future appearences and what not.

Furthermore, what about that teaser end? The Rani is a man now? Played by Benedict Cumberbatch?! What the frak?

So... underwhelming. So much stuff from Who eras many of us young viewers have not seen. How am I supposed to watch that when I can't even name the the people that showed up?

Were we watching a time lord pageant? And really, how do you put so many of them together and don't get them to pilot a TARDIS like it is supposed to be piloted? Seriously? You know the saying, when you have a class reunion, you don't let the Doctor run the show again. I mean, it's fun to have him in charge when all you have are humans, but when the adults come along you should let them handle things. Is crashing the TARDIS into the Eiffel tower really really that irresistible?

I must admin though, that chameleon circuit bit was kinda nice. Brilliant.

I didn't even think of that- that would have been amazing to see a Tardis properly piloted by eight Time Lords.

At least we got to see the swimming pool and that dodgy old warehouse / public bathroom from "Invasion of Time" again.

If that was supposed to be a joke that's pretty messed up. This isn't a charity special or something this was a proper episode and if it's on-screen then it's canon.

Until Moffat decides to reboot the universe again or something...

Say, did anyone notice the painting in Cumberbatch's scene? You don't suppose they're setting up a connection with the Curator? And what do we think this is? Is the Curator in fact in league with the Rani? Or is he in fact another male incarnation of the Rani? Do we know if Tom Baker is due for another appearance next week? Pretty exciting stuff, I just know that painting is going to be important to how this arc plays out.
