Honestly, I always thought it kind of odd that him and Barclay were the only ones who we saw using the holodeck in that way.

Well to be fair, it wasn't Geordi's idea to create a holo-Leah. The computer did that for him. And he wasn't using her for sex, just working out engineering problems. So I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt on this one.
That being said, he should have either 1) deleted the hologram version before the real Leah entered the program, or 2) at least warned the real Leah in advance that the hologram was there.

^I wonder if the inclusion of the Leah hologram in "Galaxy's Child" was meant as an implication that Geordi has used the hologram for sex, as well as for learning intimate details of her personal life (though how he missed that she was married is surprising if this was the case).
In any event, I agree with you. Geordi should have deleted the hologram when he was finished using it; short of that, he should never allowed Leah to see the hologram without first explaining why it was there.

I got more the impression that Geordi gained the false impression that he knew the real Leah personally based on his experience with the hologram.
Hell, you'd think holodecks have some sort of privacy features, like a person has an account and all their programs are on that account and no one else can access your holo account without a password or something. Kind of like how Netflix works.
Yeah, that's as far as anyone should go in assigning him any kind of blame. He got too 'comfortable' talking to holo-Leah, but it was in no way an intention to stalk her or anything like that.
The only reason Geordi even asked the computer for her personality profile was so that he could more easily talk to the hologram - at first, holo-Leah spoke in a rigid, emotionless monotone, and he couldn't work with that. So it's entirely natural that he would want to talk to a hologram that more closely resembles a real person. That's the only reason he ever wanted any information on her.
