Gotham - Season 1

Will Alfred teach Bruce Venusian Aikido?

In the comics, isn't sionis the family name of Black Mask?

Don't know the comics but that is the case in the Arkham games.

Yes -- Black Mask is Roman Sionis. This guy was Richard Sionis, so maybe it's a father-son thing?

Nice to see Bullock rallying the troops to help Gordon. The tide is slowly starting to turn. And I'm starting to adjust to the show's quirky world. This was certainly the freshest variation on the Obligatory Underground Fight Ring Episode that I think I've ever seen.

David.

06.30 - 07.20 = 50 seconds.

16.41 - 17.24 = 55 seconds. (Tommy? Was that prick Hush?)

22.56 - 23.33 = 37 seconds.

26.50 - 27.28 = 38 seconds.

29.42 - 31.30 = 1 minute 48 seconds.

42.30 - 43.20 = 50 seconds.

Total = 5 minutes 38 seconds.

Selina

29.25 - 29.41 = 16 seconds.

42.21 - 42.29 = 8 seconds.

You are misunderstanding the argument.

How long they are allowed to work, and how much usable final product they yield from that work are vastly different numbers.

They had David for at the most 25 - 30 hours in one week yet only made 5 and 1/2 minutes of usable product.

It's a question of how the director/producer decides to use their children for each episode, and how long it takes hir to get the shots they need to tell the story they want to tell.

Also, at least 30 seconds of that nearly 6 minutes was just Pertwee, which they might have filmed later without David on he set at all, but that's splitting hairs.

Interstellar is shit. Two hours and 43 minutes of complete shit.

Do you have any citation that it took them 25 to 30 hours to get 5 1/2 minutes of useable product?

For all we know it took them 5 1/2 minutes to get 5 1/2 minutes of useable product.

I said at most they had him for 25 to 30 hours because I anticipated this cunning response.

I also don't have citation that it took them 30 hours to shoot 24 seconds of Catgirl.

Then what the hell is your point? That it might have taken longer to film than it did to air? Because that's about all your position supports.

Could David have generated another 30 minutes of usable product without his shooting dragging over into the following week, and possibly the week after that too?

This has all been about if one of the kids had a large enough part in an episode, 30 to 40 minutes, would it take them more than one week to shoot their parts in that episode, and if this incredibly annoying conversation has got off track from that, it's because I am the only sane person here.

I am officially done with Barbara. What an emotional weakling. Boo hoo, Jim can't give you attention 24/7 while you smoke weed and drink all day. What a child. Let the affair with Essen begin.

I'm seriously liking the Alfred/Bruce dynamic.

Gordon having some super hot bi-sexual rich girlfriend and a rad penthouse apartment is contrary to everything I want to see in the Jim Gordon character.

Is she coming back?

The character is a badge bunny, so you'd think that this is fuel for her internal fires.

Essen mentioned she had a husband.

It seems relatively okay to cheat on Barbara because she's a hollow mess (and gone?).

But what the hell has Mr Essen ever done to deserve being screwed around on?

Erin "Barbara" Richards is listed as being in 21 episodes this season, but then what the frakk does IMDB know?

I hope that's the last we see of Barbara as her character was a complete waste.

Have you noticed how many characters in this show exist trapped in a single set?

Bruce and Alfred in the Wayne Manor Study.
Barbara in the Clocktower Apartment.
Essen in the Policehouse.
Fish in her bar.

Speaking of sets, I took the time to really notice and appreciate how massively huge the Policehouse set is. It looks they bought an entire warehouse and converted the entire damn thing into a single standing set with multiple levels and tons of extras. It looks great.

Agreed. I love that set. It looks ridiculous for a real life police station, but for a police station Gotham, it's perfect. Exaggerated architecture has always been the order of the day there.

When he grows up, I'm sure that Bruce will take on the child labor issue in Gotham. Can we just let it go until then?

I enjoyed this one. I thought the case of the week was actually a pretty cool take on the underground fight club stuff. I wasn't sure if Richard Sionis was supposed to be Roman Sionis AKA the comic's Black Mask, or just a relative.
The stuff with the other non-cop characters was good. It was nice to see Bruce doing something else, and it possibly answered my question about Tommy Elliot being introduced. Did they ever call the bully more than Tommy?
Of course the stuff with Penguin was good, although we didn't get anything more with more with the reveal from last week. His mom is also seriously creepy.
It'll be interesting to see where they go with Fish/Falcone story now that Fish's girl she seems to be having a change of heart.
