A pre-Trek Shatner as the guest panelist on the old Whats My Line? panel show from 1964! Plugging his series For The People, of course!

Note he can't help but keep his arm around the back of the chair of fellow guest panelist Kitty Carlisle.

Also, you get a GOOD look at that mid 60s hairpiece of his - pay attention during the Mystery Guest segment, after he pulls off the mask..

a MUST see, folks!

From the last days of the era when TV was still classy and sophisticated.

LOL at hounddog Bill's first question for the guest: ''what's your phone number?'' :rommie:

Oh wow, Johnny Olsen, the voice of the Price is Right when I was a youngster also announced for this show...But he sounds so different than he did in the 70s/80s...

Simply delicious! I was 8 years old when that aired. I watched that show and "To Tell the Truth" all the time with family. The commercials were Choice! Thank you for that sweet trip down Memory Lane!

That mask must have given him all sorts of trouble. He was fiddling with his hair at least two times the cameras caught him.

Johnny was sounding a little Don Wilson-ish there, wasn't he?

Had to laugh when he says that his show was on after Ed Sullivan. The show was doomed, it was running opposite Bonanza....

Funny, back in those days people actually had to get out of their chairs to change channels! :rommie: But a LOT of people did that - they got their butts up after Ed, changed to NBC for Bonanza, then got up again, and changed back to CBS for Candid Camera/To Tell the Truth and What's My Line. That 9 pm slot on Sundays, was always a hole for CBS because of the Cartwright boys. It was only when they put the Smothers Brothers there, they started to make any headway against Bonanza - by which time, Whats My Line and Candid Camera were gone.

(Actually, Sunday nights they actually did that TWICE, as NBC had Disney's Wonderful World of Color at 7. And NBC always had problems with 8 pm on Sundays because of Ed! A lot of NBC shows bit the dust at 8 on Sunday nights, most famously, Steve Allen)
